"Everything seems really great around." Sabi ni Kuya Max sa akin habang naglalakad kaming apat papunta sa mga quarters.
Apat kami na magkakasamang naglalakad papunta sa tinutuluyan nila Thea. Si Kuya Max, si Kuya Gab at si Ate She. Spot on si Kuya Rob sa sinabi niyang 9:45 ang dating nila Kuya Max. Nag hihintay ako ng 9:30, sa harap, only for them to arrive about 15 minutnes later.
"Kuya Rob makes sure everything runs smoothly." Sagot ko naman. "With Ate Katie around, everything just seems spick and span."
Napatingin sa paligid si Ate She. "That reminds me, where is Katie?"
Napadebate ako kung anong sasabihin ko. Ate Katie and Thea weren't really on good conditions ngayon. Thea may already be over it, pero I didn't know what to say for Ate Katie.
"She's still at her quarters." Biglang sabi ni Kuya Rob. "Baka tulog pa yun, pagod. Tol, kamusta?"
Masayang binati ni Kuya Max yung kaibigan niya. Nakipag akapan pa siya dito, patting each others backs and then doing the same for Kuya Gab. He places a kiss on Ate She's cheek.
Close nga ang mga pamilya naming lahat. Kaya hindi na nakapagtataka.
"I trust it that Katie hasn't been giving you headaches?"Kuya Max. "She can be a real handful, aside from Thea."
Kuya Rob shrugs. "They're both good. Aside from the boating incident, nothing much."
"And how did she take the whole news about Tita Val earning the resort?" Kuya Gab.
"Pretty well." Sabi ko.
Napatingin si Ate She. "She did?"
"Of course, and the fact that her boat just exploded completely missed her." Ako.
"She was actually laughing she got the boat to explode, as if matagal na niyang gustong gawin yun." Kuya Rob.
Napailing lang sila, Kuya Gab had an amused smile in his lips. I smiled. It was Thea we were talking about here.
"Katie tells us she hasn't been eating?" Gab
"That was before." Sabi ko sa kanila. "But I'm getting her to eat some. And she's relenting. We make sure she eats on time. "
Lumiko lang kami sa may pathway. Personally, I was relieved na kasama si Kuya Gab, which meant he cared for Thea still. Masaya rin akong nakikita siyang concerned sa pinsan niyang tinuring na niyang kapatid for so long.
"So far, past days, she's been eating. May mga times nga na hindi ko na maintindihan mga gusto niyang kainin e." Kuya Rob. Explains "She's obsessed with Peanut butter. Almost pairing it with anything."
"Like oreos?"
Napatingin ako kay Kuya Gab "Yes. And banana cake too,"
"Doesn't that taste disgusting?" tanong ni Ate She.
"You should try the banana cake with Peanut butter." Sabi ni Kuya Gab. "She used to do the oreos noong grade 3 siya. I don't like her just eating those. It's unhealthy."
"Gab, kaya nga tayo nandito, to check up on her, hindi ba?"
Hindi na ako nagtanong pa. Hindi na bago sa akin yun. Nagulat nga akong nandito si Kuya Gab, but what was new? Kung gaano ako ka protective kay Thea, hindi mapapantayan yun ng pagkaprotective ng buong pamilya niya.
