"Myles.""Hey, Myles."
I turned my head and looked at Arsen.
He smiled sheepishly. "Do you have an eraser?"
"No talking during testing conditions students," The teacher said.
It's first period and I've got a maths exam.
I said to Arsen, "No."
I'm writing in pen. Who writes in pencils now anyways? I took a glance around the classroom. Yep, everyone is using pens.
Arsen probably needs to write using a pencil because of all the mistakes he makes. Okay, that was a little mean.
I sighed internally. Can't the clock go any faster? I've already finished my test. Well, not really finished it but I've done as much as I know how to do.
I just hate maths. Which is probably why I'm in the lowest math class.
Jemma was in the highest.
I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I shifted a little in my seat so I could sneakily pull my phone out of my pocket halfway and take a look.
Cole: Not going to school today. I can pick you up after?
Oh, he's not gonna be here. Damn it.
Why isn't he gonna be here?
I decided it was too risky to reply so I'm gonna answer Cole's text later.
I had two more questions to go when the bell rang.
Urgh. I puffed out my cheeks.
All I'm hoping for is a pass. It doesn't have to be a great result.
When I exited the class I found Mycah walking down the hall.
"Mycah!"
He turned on his heel.
"Wait!" I rushed up to him.
Mycah looked concerned.
"Do you know why Cole isn't at school today?" I asked.
"Huh, I didn't realise he wasn't here. I don't have first period with him."
I looked down. "Oh, okay."
Mycah's face had an expression of understanding. "I'm sure it's fine, he's fine."
When Mycah left I pulled out my phone to text Cole.
Me: Why aren't you gonna be at school today? Has something happened?
His reply was instant.
Cole: I'll pick you up after school.
That's not what I asked.

When school was over, I waited half an hour for Cole to pick me up.
