Eliza:

Just in case you ever wanted to know,

Chicken Teriyaki is the best.

Ever.

If you're asking why I'm eating Asian food on a Carribean cruise, the ship has a food court ten times the size of my house.

Including my dad's restaurant.

Kal/Kaldur:

Your father owns a restaurant?

Eliza:

Several, actually. A whole chain of them. We got a special deal on this cruise because he just made a deal with the cruise line to let them sell his food on their ships.

Kal/Kaldur:

What kind of restaurant is it?

Eliza:

Well, dad's restaurant is an authentic Hispanic eatery, but then my mom also owns a chain of restaurants that are 50s diners.

Kal/Kaldur:

Certainly very different tastes.

Eliza:

Not too different. We all love food, no matter where it's from. Our best conversations are over the dinner table with mouths full of nachos and milkshakes.

Kal/Kaldur:

My, that does sound interesting. What is your favorite milkshake flavor?

Eliza:

Mint. Which is super annoying when my mom's restaurant is the only restaurant I've found that sells it. What's your favorite milkshake flavor? Or ice cream flavor?

Kal/Kaldur:

Dark chocolate or vanilla.

Eliza:

So you're partial either way, huh?

I'm more for chocolate than vanilla when it comes down to it, but I'm not gonna fight anyone over it.

Kal/Kaldur:

At last, someone else who wisely chooses to avoid unnecessary conflict!

Eliza:

Eh, what can I say? I try to be a peacemaker. I don't always get a chance to practice because I'm an only child or the teachers break up a fight before I can, but I really don't see the point in fighting.

Unless it's one of my parent's stupid rules to "protect" me. Then I've got a problem.

Kal/Kaldur:

But that scenario almost seems like a fight is necessary.

Eliza:

Yeah. You're right.

Have you ever been to a dance before?

Kal/Kaldur:

A...Dance? I have attended a ball before, but not a "dance"

Eliza:

Again! You're so sophisticated! Why don't you have a date?

Kal/Kaldur:

I suppose I am just waiting for the right partner.

Eliza:

Well that makes sense.

My church hosts dances all the time and they're so much fun, but of course there church dances so the standards are much higher than, say, school dances, or anything else. But there's a dance for all the teens on the cruise tonight on the upper deck, so I'm gonna go check it out. Should be interesting.

Kal/Kaldur:

It sounds like fun. I hope you enjoy yourself.

Oh! Before I forget, I plan to visit my hometown for a couple of days, and I may not have cell service or just not look at my phone at all during my stay.

Eliza:

Awwww, but then who will I text at two in the morning when I can't sleep?

Just kidding, I'll text Raquel.

Kal/Kaldur:

Who is that?

Eliza:

My BFF, the one I was trying to text that got me connected to you.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your trip! Take pics for me!

Kal/Kaldur:

Enjoy your dance!
