Mortals

Hey guys, Drina here. Sooooo.... we're a couple chapters away from the ending, so I will try my best to finish as soon as I can finish "Silence of a mermaid" and continue with "Hidden Pain". "Finally found you" will still take some time because Hidden pain will take a while to finish. Anyways enjoy this chapter. -Drina.

I woke up with an uneasy feeling, I go downstairs and see my mother and Erza's mother sitting there talking to Natsu, Jellal, and Levy. 

"Mom?" I question both Erza's mom and my mom. 

"Lucy, I was just telling Levy that Loke has spent the past couple of days here on earth and when he returned he couldn't stop talking about a sweet girl that worked at a small cafe as a waitress. I think he might be staying here with you guys after all." Mother looks happy, she also seems to be keeping something from me. 

"Also, I have a surprise. I talked with your father, he is okay with it so," She takes a breath and smiles. "As soon as you figure out how to become mortal, we will stay with you here." Her smile wide as she hugs Natsu and reaches out for me. 

"I will be able to see you two get married," She says as she motions towards Jellal and Levy. "Erza is so lucky to have you. Levy you are a gift, Gajeel will treasure you forever." I stare at her flabbergasted. 

"Excuse you, what if I want to get married too?" I reply. Irene giggles and sighs. 

"We know for a fact you will get married," She says with a smile. "I will also be here to join you in your day." 

"So you'll become mortal?" I ask. they both nod and Natsu gets up to kiss me.

"We are getting married, I just hope you are aware of that." I giggle at his words and smile. 

After a couple days of going out and hanging out with my mother, I finally decide to pull Rogue and the girls into my room. I hand Erza my favorite sword and I climb out the window motioning them to follow me. 

We arrive to the middle of the woods, I extend my wings and kneel on the floor. "Cut my wings off." They all stare at me with wide eyes. 

"Lucy... what are you doing?" Juvia asks in a scared tone. 

"I needed to cut my wings off the first time, that's why I survived. I want to stay here as a mortal, so cut my wings," I explain and Erza looks down with sad eyes. 

"Fine, but only on one condition. You need to cut my wings off as well, I want to be with Jellal. I can't do that if I can't die." I nod and she smiles at me. The rest stare at us with wide eyes. 

"I'm so sorry," I hear Erza say as I close my eyes. I hear her swing the sword and an excruciating pain invades my shoulder blades. I feel a slight burning on my head where my horns are, I lay on the floor waiting for the pain to stop, out of nowhere it stops. I reach over my shoulders to touch my shoulder blades. I feel nothing, I reach to my head and my horns are gone too. I look at Erza and the others. Their eyes are wide with awe and surprise. 

"Y-your horns... t-they're gone," Levy stutters out. 

Erza hands me the sword that is still intact and here. She equips her favorite sword and hands it to me. "It seems like we can keep it, might as well have it as a reminder." I take her sword and she does the same as I did moments ago. 

I swim the sword and Erza just stays there. "Did you do it?" She asks. 

"Did you not feel it?" Juvia asks. Erza sakes her head and smiles as she takes her sword. 

"I'm mortal..." She hugs me and I hug her back. Tears fall from her face as she begins to ramble on and on about what she plans to do with Jellal in the future. 

"Fine," Rogue moves forward and uses his shadow magic to create a sword. "Cut my wings off."

Levy and Juvia come forward with their own swords and say the same thing. 

"We can't leave you two alone," Levy says with a smile on her face. 

Erza takes Rogue's sword and I take Levy's. "Sorry if it hurts." I swing my sword and Erza does the same. Juvia waits for Erza to cut her wings off. 

We walk home slowly. I enter the front door and my mom and Irene let out a loud gasp the moment they see us. 

"You... did you... you did!" They hug us and begin to cry.

"I don't want to know how, well kind of. You're mortal." Natsu and the others rush towards us and hug us. 

"Luce, you did it, we can be together forever," he says as he kisses me. I look around and everyone is happy.

"I can stay with you, I'm so happy," I whisper as tears fall down my face. 

"Luce, why are you crying? Don't cry," He kisses my forehead and hugs me closer to him.

"I'm just so happy, I love you so much." I smile and he wipes my tears away. 

"I love you even more," He says in a soft voice.
