Chapter 14 - Messy

"Don't give me that face." I said to Morris, Daniel and Archer as soon as I walked into the base. I walked into the meeting room and they followed me. There's 3 files in the table and I looked at them.

"Explain.." Daniel said.

"Something off with Kard."

"What is it? Last time we check.. He-"

"Who's Scarlette Thompson? You're new girl?" Morris opened one of the file and there's a picture of her there.

"I never thought this is your type." Archer said and I sighed. I took all of the files and read them one by one. I sat down and gestured them to sit down.

"Explain Matthew." Morris said but I gestured him to wait. I put one file on the table and showed it to them.

"Read.." I pointed.

"Who's Mrs. Beckervil?" Morris asked.

"Kard told Scarlette that Mrs. Beckervil is his grandmother when they both don't have any relation at all."

"So what? This has nothing to do with us.."

"Since you understand.. You don't need to know why." I took all the files and smirked at them. I got up and walked out. I walked out from the base and put the file on the car. I walked back in to train.

"What's with the face?" I turned to see Cailey. She was wearing her sports attire.

"Nothing."

"I know you.. Something's bothering you right?" She asked as she took a weight.

"Just stay away from me for awhile." I said and walked away.

"Matthew."

"Just give me time okay? It's not easy for me." I said. I finished my training with Roy, our new trainer. After that I decided to go home instead of the office. I walked into my secret office inside the house and opened the file again.

"Matthew Lemiere!" I sighed when my mom called. I walked out from my room.

"What mom?" I walked down to the living room. She looked at me seriously and gestured me to go to the kitchen.

"Who's Scarlette?" I raised my eyebrows.

"No on-"

"Answer me before you dad finds out."

"She's my employee but apparently she has a relation with Kard." I said.

"Your dad left his phone this morning and Vent message him that you're looking for Scarlette's background. I deleted the message from his phone because I bet you have a good reason for it." She crossed her arms in front of her chest giving me you-better-explain look.

"Apparently Scarlette saved a woman called Mrs. Beckervil and Kevin told her that she's her grandmother. The thing that I know.. that guy doesn't have any family beside his dad. His mom died and no grandparents left." I said and my mom looked at me weirdly.

"Is she your new girlfriend? Don't tell me that you got her pregnant."

"Mom.." I hissed.

"Okay fine. I won't tell your dad as long as you can handle it and won't cause any trouble." She said and I nodded.

"Thanks mom."

"Good." She smiled and I nodded. I walked back to my secret office and started to learn more about the file. Morris and Archer already did their job and now it's my turn to find out more.

"Wait.. Why am I doing this?" I laughed at myself. I'm crazy. I closed the files and put it on the drawer. I just wasted 2 million dollars for nothing. I think someone casted a spell on me until I did all this.

I sighed big time and decided to go back to my office. Instead going to T I L E.. I work on my other division. Until suddenly I got a call from Eden.

"Good evening, Mr. Lemiere."

"What is it?"

"Scarlette suppose to send the file at 3 but suddenly she lost it sir. I'm sorry sir. Please give us time to re-make it-" I ended the call and walked straight to the lift. I went down to the T I L E office floor. My body heated up because all of the files already approve by my dad and a lot of people.

I walked straight to Scarlette's office.. I bursted the door open.

"How can you lost the files?!" I bursted angrily and she stood up right away. She looked down to the ground.

"God damn it!" I bursted and ran my hands through my hair and looked at this woman disbelief.

"How can you be this clumsy and lost the file! You're so stupid! I want you to fix it!"

"I'm sorry sir."

"Fix it!" I walked out and walked to my office. I sat down and suddenly my phone rang, It's Herry.

"Herry.. I'm sorry.. We'll get you back in a few days."

"Is everything okay?" He asked.

"Just my stupid crazy employee lost the files of the designs."

"Right.. I'm waiting for that but nothing got into my email."

"I'll give you as soon as I can.. Sorry dude."

"Chill bro, just give me when you're ready." He said and I ended the call. I sighed and closed my eyes. I took my office telephone and called Scarlette's office.

"Hello." She answered in a trembling voice.

"I want you to get the files before tonight.. Give it to me after you find it." I said coldly and ended the call. Gosh.. This girl really cause a lot of trouble. I can't believe that she can't work clean and smooth. There's always something wrong with her work.

I took my phone out and dialed James's phone.

"Good evening, Mr. Lemiere."

"You got anything?"

"Still working on Scarlette's background. I gave the file already even thought it's still not complete."

"I haven't read it."

"Uh? Why?" He asked disbelief

"None of your business."

"Dude.. I think Kevin doing this because Scarlette's dad used to work with Kevin's dad."

"What? Scarlette doesn't even know Kard Ventora."

"Kard Ventora is not Kevin's dad's company. It's his mom's. His dad came from a really poor family while Edeline Ventora came from a really wealthy family. You know the rest.."
