"donghun, why do you check out at least 10 plus books every time you come here?" seyoon questions as he scans each book in donghun's plethora.

"college is hard," donghun shrugs. "i need more books to study with."

"well, i doubt you need to study from the korean translated version of fifty shades of grey.

donghun tilts down awkwardly. "t-that's just for personal interest."

   "okay then," seyoon sing-songs.

seyoon finishes scanning through each book, and prints the tab for all the books. he folds it neatly and tucks it under the cover of the top book on the stack.

   "bag or no?"

    "bag, please."

seyoon nods and pulls one of the felt bags out from under the check out counter. he unfolds it and starts to place the books from the stack inside one by one. donghun plays with his hoodie strings as he watches.

"you know that one cafe downtown?" asks donghun.

"each the graveyard?" seyoon asks, continuing to fill the felt bag with donghun's books.

"y-yeah," donghun answers. "i saw eunji there."

"you did?" seyoon says, sounding interested, when really, he already knew about his ex's new job.

"she served me coffee while i was studying," donghun says shyly. "then a blonde guy walked in, he was cute."

seyoon nods, and pushes the heavy bag toward donghun. "interesting," seyoon clicks his tongue against the roof of his mouth.

donghun pulls the bag down from the counter into his arms, gripping the handle tightly and supporting the bag with his other free arm under the bottom.

"well, see you soon," donghun says. "call me if you wanna hang out or something."

   "m'kay," seyoon responses. "g'bye."

donghun smiles and walks away from the counter, leaving seyoon alone again. the library was going to close within a few minutes, so he only had to bare the few minutes until he could go home.

seyoon hears the library service phone ring from the back. he yells out to the others working that he'd answer.

he walks into the shelving area, pushing pass a few carts filled with unshelved books returned today.

he picks up the phone and presses the green phone button to answer the call.

"hello, this is the seoul public library, how may i be of assistance?"

   "hello, is this kim seyoon?"

seyoon's eyebrows furrow. "yes, how may i help you, sir?"

"how long do you have until your shift ends?"

"sir, if you are going to call the public library for personal information, i will hang up-"

"please! seyoon, i need your help. how long do you have until your shift ends?"

seyoon inhales. "about a minute, why?"

"run straight to byeongkwan's, it's urgent."

with that, the line goes dead. the phone's loud buzz rings in seyoon's ear as he holds the phone to his ear, frozen, in shock.

     ✧・゚: *✧・゚:*

seyoon slams his hands against byeongkwan's apartment door frantically, leaning over, gasping for air.

he ran about half a mile straight to get from the library to hear after his shift officially ended. he felt as if he were going to vomit.

the door unlocks and slides open. seyoon his greeted by another blonde.

  "h-hi?" seyoon questions.

"seyoon, you're finally here," junhee sighs with relief, taking seyoon's wrist into his hand and pulling him into the apartment room.

"what's wrong with b-byeongkwan?" seyoon says breathlessly.

"he locked himself in the bathroom," junhee tsks his tongue. "and i can't get him to open the door."

"how did you know to be able to call the library to get ahold of me?" seyoon looks at junhee with a shocked expression.

"someone mentioned it to me before, i think it was chaelin, but that's not important," junhee says. "i thought byeongkwan might listen to you if you tried talking to him."

junhee doesn't let go of seyoon's wrist until they both stand in front of the bathroom door. both of them hear no sound coming from inside.

"i'll just sit in the living room and wait," junhee whispers to seyoon.

junhee walks back down the hall into the living room, leaving seyoon alone in front of the bathroom door.

he breathes in through his mouth slowly.

   "b-byeongkwan?"

he waits for a response. but he doesn't get one.

"if there's something wrong, you shouldn't l-lock yourself in the bathroom."

   still no response.

seyoon leans his ear against the thin door, trying to listen for any sound coming from inside.

   muffled sobs.

"b-byeongkwan, please unlock the door," seyoon speaks. "we can talk about whatever is wrong face-to-face."

  the sobs only continue.

  "byeongkwan, c'mon."

   the sobs stop.

   "byeongkwan?"

    silence.

seyoon sighs. he pushes away from the door and leans against the opposite wall of the hallway.

nothing happens for a while, seyoon just waits. junhee had started a pot of tea in the kitchen because he was needing something to parch his dry throat.

seyoon continues to watch the door for any sign of byeongkwan unlocking it, but nothing.

seyoon sighs, and pushes himself up from the wall. he turns to walk up the hall to meet junhee in the kitchen.

   "seyoon, wait."

seyoon stops his tracks. he turns to the bathroom door to see it cracked open ajar.

"please have junhee come here, i don't trust you as much as i trust him."

those words stab seyoon in the chest almost. he feels a shiver run down his spine, and his fingers become numb.

he sharply inhales, tears building up in his eyes. "yes, i'll go get him."
