Prologue

Moana's POV

    Before I answered the ocean's honorary call, mainly due to my grandmother's constant nagging, my life was both normal yet so boring. My life changed that day forever. I became a whole new person, began to travel the world, got a new perspective on life, and so much more. Unfortunately because of the decision to find that mythical demigod of the wind and sea, it cost me a few things. I was labeled as mentally insane by everyone in my school, including my teachers. My parents also saw me differently. The only person who didn't think I was crazy was my grandmother Tala, but that's only because she's known as the town's crazy lady who spends too much time with her nose in books, just like me.

   It's funny how I turned out to be more like my grandmother rather than my own parents. My dad is the governor of Florida and my mother is the lieutenant governor of Florida. I'm pretty sure you can figure out their personalities just off of that description alone. They wanted me to follow their footsteps and work my way up to governor of Florida one day as well. That was never my dream. My dream was to have a job that allowed me to spend a lot of time by the ocean. I was thinking something along the lines of being a marine biologist. I love the creatures that roam the ocean just as much as I do the ocean itself. Obviously that didn't work out because of my voyage across the sea to find the demigod of the wind and sea, I wasn't even able to finish high school, therefore I became a huge disappoint to everyone. 

   I'm sorry that I sound so negative. I've just been through a lot lately, though I should probably start the story from the very beginning so that's exactly what I'll do. 

Hoped you guys liked this lead in to the first chapter! I don't always do prologues for all of my works but I figured a prologue would be suiting for this one. Prologues never tend to be long anyway. The updates on this fanfic may be a little out of wack at times due to balancing updates between this one and my ScarletVision one shots but I think it'll work out. I've balanced doing two works at the same time before. If it gets too hectic, I'll just alternate between the two because I'm equally passionate about both works. :) -Mary
