Chapter 36

Moana's POV

 Mega Time Skip... A year later...

  I've been doing a lot of thinking lately on the matter of having a child and now that I'm eighteen in mortal years despite being immortal now, I feel as though I'm ready to bare a child. I want to try with Maui. "Hey Maui, I know you're doing yard work of sorts, but do you have a minute?" He climbs down with ease, landing on his feet right in front of me. "I always have time for my princess. What's up?" "I need to talk to you for a few minutes." Maui frowns slightly. "Are you okay? Is something bothering you?" I shake my head no. "Everything is fine and nothing is bothering me at the moment Maui." I sit down on a rock and motion for him to sit across from me. I want to look right into his eyes as I speak to him about this. I also clearly want to see his reaction to this news that is going to make him very happy. 

  "Maui, I'm ready to try." He looks at me with confusion. "What do you mean?" It takes him a moment to realize what exactly I'm talking about. When he does, his eyes bug out of his head and his jaw drops. "Are you saying that I think you're saying?" I nod my head while grinning. "I am. I'm ready to try and make a baby with you." He tears up and holds me close to his chest. "This is such amazing news. Baby, I'm so happy. We're going to have the most wonderful son or daughter. They're going to look like a combination of the both of us. They'll even have a good mix of both our personality traits. It's going to be amazing! I can't wait!" I giggle. "I'm glad you're happy baby. I am too." He smirks at me. "When do we start?" I smirk back. "I'm tired today but how about tomorrow?" Maui puffs out his chest and flips his hair, causing me to burst into laughter. "Sounds good Mo." I roll my eyes playfully at him. "I love you, but you're a complete tool sometimes." He rolls his eyes back. "So I've been told, almost everyday, by you." 

    I bow and make my way back to the cave, deciding to take a nap because I actually really am tired. I fall asleep quickly and have a peaceful nap. I'm woken up a couple hours later by a rather dirty Maui. "MMMaaaauuuuiii, I love you, but you're really dirty right now. Can you please go bathe in the ocean or in the shower outside?" He rolls his eyes playfully and sighs. "I was going to love, I just wanted to check on you. I was worried about you." I smile softly at him. "I'm fine Maui. I was just tired is all. I feel much better now. All I needed was a little bit of rest. After you bathe, we can eat dinner together. Do have any dinner prepped by any chance?" He nods. "I do. I happen to have caught some fish earlier which are currently being roasted by a fire I made a few minutes ago. They should be ready after I clean up." My stomach rumbles at the mere mention of fish. I'm so flipping hungry oh my god.

 Fifteen minutes later... 

  Maui chose to bathe in the ocean because he likes to relax as he bathes. Some people prefer showers over baths and vice versa. Maui just happens to be one of those people that prefers taking a bath. I on the other hand prefer taking showers for a few different reasons. One, I'm too insecure about my body to stand in the nude out in the open. For all I know, passing ships could stop and stare at me, thinking they have access to some kind of private show. I'm not a stripper and don't plan on becoming one anytime soon. Second, I feel like I'm sitting a pool of my own filth at times when I'm bathing rather than showering. Third and lastly, I don't want to kill any innocent sea creatures in the process. The deeper one goes into the water, the more likely they are to encounter a sea creature whether it be a small fish, dolphin, mantra ray, etc. Basically the possibilities of what kind of sea creature one could encounter in the ocean is endless. 

  I'm just happy that Maui is nice and clean. Deep down... I know Maui enjoys being clean too, despite the tough and macho exterior he often puts on for me and anyone else we happen to encounter on our adventures. Together, we eat some delicious fish and gaze at the stars before getting ready to go to bed. Both of us have trouble getting to sleep right away because we're too excited to begin trying to have our first child together. I hope we're successful within our first few attempts. Being pregnant will be an interesting experience. The only part I'm dreading is getting super fat, but I'm sure that given my strength, powers, and motivation to stay fit, I'll be able to shed off the pregnancy weight pretty quickly.
