Chapter 34

Chapter 34 

Moana's POV

 The next morning...

   With fond memories and a pang of sadness, Maui and I are leaving now to return back to his island. I know that we'll have many more adventures, but it's going to be a little while before we have another long distance one. I sigh and lean my head on Maui's shoulder. "Maui, I'm really going to miss this place, just as much as California. You picked a paradise island for our honeymoon. Thank you so much. I had an amazing time." He smiles and kisses me on the forehead. "I had an amazing time too love and I'm sure we'll get to return again someday. In the meantime, there are many other places we have yet to visit and make memories at. Any preference as to where we should go next?" "Maui, I feel like we've been going every where I want to go. What's a place you want to visit?" He thinks about it for a moment before answering with London. I grin at him. "That would have been my answer too, though I'm surprised it's your answer. What about London appeals to you?" He playfully rolls his eyes. "I'm a history buff and London has a lot of history. Not to mention a nice atmosphere and interesting people."

   I smile at him. "You have good taste. I agree with you on everything, but I also love their accents. Like they're so flipping cool." He chuckles. "That they are, though I like your voice just the way it is." I blush.  "Aw Maui, you know just the perfect things to say to a girl." He bows and is blushing himself. "I try princess. Now let's check out, get our stuff onto the boat, and sail. We have a three day journey back home." I nod and we begin that whole process. We manage to get it all done in a half an hour, setting sail for home. I volunteer to sail for awhile because Maui does a majority of the sailing. I want to feel more useful. Sure I wayfind for the both of us, but it's a little different from sailing. I like holding the ropes in my hands until my hands begin to burn. It reminds me that I'm alive and doing what I love. Maui didn't sleep well last night so he's going to rest for a few hours. 

Four hours later...

  Maui wakes up earlier than I thought he would and volunteers to take over sailing for awhile. I step aside and let him do just that. He tells me that I can rest if I want, but I'm honestly not tired enough to sleep just yet. In fact, I'm kind of hungry. I go into the storage chambers and get myself some chips to snack on. "Maui, are you hungry?" He smiles politely at me. "Surprisingly no I'm not. Since I couldn't sleep much last night, I kind of went back to the cafe and binged ate. Save me some for later though. I'll get hungry again sooner or later. I nod and only eat half of the bag, having the rest for Maui. By the way, they were salt and vinegar in case you were wondering. "Mo, is anything on your mind? You seem to be lost in thought." I smile at him happily. "I'm fine Maui. I'm just processing that we're officially a married couple. It really doesn't begin to set in until after the honeymoon. I know we'll have our honeymoon phase for the first few months, but after that reality will be begin to set in."

  Maui chuckles and wraps an arm around me. "You're right about that Mo, though reality isn't all that bad, especially when you're with the right person." I smile lovingly up at him. "Being with the right person certainly makes everything easier." Maui adjusts the sails before looking back at me once again. "Hey princess, you told me that you'd sing me a song sometime. Are you up singing me one?" I blush and bite my lip. "I suppose so. It'd be a good way to pass time. What kind of song would you like to hear?" He smirks at me. "A love song." I playfully roll my eyes. "Of course you would want to hear a love song." I wrack my brain to figure out the perfect love song to sing when one suddenly pops into my mind. I'm Yours by Jason Mraz. I grew up listening to his music and that song is a childhood classic for me. I know it by heart. I take a deep breath and begin singing.

But my breath fogged up the glass
And so I drew a new face and I laughed
I guess what I been saying is there ain't no better reason
To rid yourself of vanity and just go with the seasons

 When I'm done singing, Maui looks at me with his jaw dropped. "Mo, you never cease to have amaze me. Your voice is so beautiful and your list of talents is mind blowing." I blush. "T-Thank you Maui." Before I can babble out another word, Maui's lips are on mine. We sure do kiss a lot, but I don't mind that one bit.
