Chapter 38

Moana's POV

Time Skip... Two Months later...

  I'm already halfway through my pregnancy and I'm a mess. I'm still going through morning sickness despite being two months along now, I sweat all the time, and am huge. Maui tells me everyday that I look even more beautiful, but I know he's doing it just to be nice. I look horrible. I can hardly walk now. I'm waddling like a damn penguin. I don't want to be a penguin as cute as they are. I want to be me again. I know I'm still me... but I really don't feel like it. My emotions and hormones are also extremely out of whack. "Maui, why do you love me?" He looks at me in confusion. "What kind of question is that Mo? I love you with all of my heart." I sigh. "I know, but you shouldn't, at least not right now. I'm hideous and a mess." He chuckles and pulls me close to him. "Baby girl, I'd love you even if you were ten feet tall and had bigger muscles than mine." I roll my eyes. "You always have to bring yourself into this, don't you?" He winks and flexes his muscles, earning a loud sigh from me.

   He notices that I'm actually feeling down and becomes serious. "Mo, I really do love you no matter what. I know you're insecure right now, but after the twins are born, you will begin to lose the pregnancy wait and all of these annoying symptoms will be gone in just two months. In the end, it will be worth because we will have a beautiful daughter and handsome son. Right?" I sigh and nod in agreement. I hate it when Maui's right. He always playfully gloats about to me and I don't hear the end of it for like a week. "I'm glad you see it my way baby." I pout and lean my head on his shoulder. "I'm tired." He ruffles my hair and kisses my forehead tenderly. "Do you want me to carry you back to the cave? Despite you being pregnant, I can still lift you without a problem." I giggle and nod. He then scoops me up into his arms bridal style and carries me all the way back to the cave, gently settling me into my bed, even tucking me under the covers like a true sweetheart. "I'm going to work out for a bit because it's been a few days since I have. I'll be back after love." I smile at him. "Enjoy your workout." He smiles back. "Thank you princess." 

  Maui leaves for his workout to do somewhere on the island while my bed is my best friend for the next few hours. I wake up later to find a freshly bathed Maui seeing on the edge of my bed. "I take it you had an intense workout?" He nods with a grin. "I sure did. Don't make fun of me love, I showered afterwards just for you." I peck him on the lips. "And for that I am grateful." He playfully rolls his eyes at me. "Are you hungry?" I laugh. "What kind of question is that? Of course I'm hungry Maui. Don't ever ask a pregnant woman if she's hungry. The answer is always yes." He laughs himself. "I should have known better. I'm hungry myself to be honest. What are you craving? I'm down for anything." I moan in pleasure. "I could go for some sandwiches. Can you fetch some from the village not too far from here." He nods. "You got it love. I'll be back soon with some sandwiches." He leaves the cave, shifts into hawk form, and flies off to get our sandwiches. 

Half an hour later...

  He's back with twelve sandwiches. I look at him in shock. "Maui, did you really get us twelve sandwiches?" He grins. "I sure did. Six for you and six for me. We both have really big appetites." I blush and hide my face in my hands. "You've rubbed off too much on me Maui." Maui kisses me on the cheek. "I know, but I think that's a good thing, because you've also rubbed off on me. It's a good balance you know?" I nod in agreement. In a peaceful silence, we then eat six sandwiches a piece because we love food so much and are pigs when it comes to eating.
