Why couldn't it have worked? One stupid, simple plan and it couldn't have worked! I mean how easy was this plan to carry out? Pretty easy if you asked me. If only the characters had stuck to their stupid script!

Stupid! Stupid characters!

And why was I so upset you ask? What happened to make me so angry?! Umph! I'll tell you why.

My hands trembled as I stood before the destined skyscraper.

"Remora House, " I read the writing on the front of the building in a small whisper. I gulped slowly and put one foot before the other until I was standing at the glass double front doors of the building.

I pulled one of the doors open and put my head through as I checked to see if the coast was clear and there was no sign of him.

It's a glass door, my subconscious screamed at me making me blush in realization before opening the door fully to rush through and hurry over to the front desk.

My mouth fell open as I took in the lobby. One word, huge! My house could fit into this one room! The lobby was of a theme of silver and gray, a good choice since most of the walls were glass and so they blended nicely. The tall front desk I was now scurrying towards was also of a silver colour and was parallel to the front door with 'Remora' smacked unto it's front in large print. Even through my haste, I rolled my eyes. Of course that was normal, but I just couldn't help the annoyed feeling that crossed me when I thought of the rich, extravagant bastard who I was trying so hard not to think about at the moment.

Gray and silver chairs were scattered in different areas of the lobby in an orderly fashion. They were placed around glass tables which held business magazines it seemed, and sofas also could be seen in a few places.

Looking to the right, I noticed three elevators that seemed to be in use at all times since men and women in extravagant suits rushed in and out every time the doors opened. Corridors beside the two end elevators lead the way out of the lobby and paintings that seemed to come from the greatest artists in the world were hung up on their walls.

"Hey you!" someone shouted from my right sending my heart into overdrive as I thought they were talking to me. I looked over to see a security guard grabbing a man by the arm and pulling him away from a full glass elevator that he was about to enter. "Never use this elevator, it's for the bosses only." he growled making the man flinch away before jumping into the other elevator that was beside that one. The guard shook his head before standing beside the glass elevator, taking up his post once again.

"Um may I help you?" a voice spoke up from my left gaining my attention. I turned to look in front of me once more to see the girl at the front desk looking at me with uncertainty.

"Ah.. Yeah. Hi, I'm Katherine Harrington. I'm here to see Mr. Gordon." I said nervously.

"Ah yes! Katherine Harrington, Mr. Gordon's new secretary! He had informed me that he had hired a new secretary." She mumbled as she typed something into her computer quickly. I couldn't help but notice that it was the newest brand out now and in a silver colour which made it look even more expensive than it actually was.

"Here it is," she notified me looking up. "Mr. Gordon works on the tenth-"

"Katherine? Well you're here early." a voice said in surprise from behind me causing my heart to jump with fright. I turned around with a pale face, but then sighed with relief at the not so familiar face. Catching myself, I forced a smile unto my face.
