What had I gotten myself into?
No.
Why was I so unlucky to get myself into situations such as this one?
I had no idea what I did now, but whatever it was, it couldn't have been good if Mr. Charles Remora wanted to see me. Right?
Had Riddian been making reports on me?
No. That couldn't be. We hadn't gone so far back on bad terms... but then what was it? It was eating me alive not knowing.
Riddian emerged from his office and I stood immediately from my chair. "Going out today sir?" I asked hopefully. He stopped walking and turned towards me, giving me a curious look.
"Yes. We are. Why?"
I smiled, rocking on my heels.
"No reason. I'll just get my bag and then we'll be off," I told him and then proceeded to do so. He nodded, checking his watch, but it wasn't long before I had gotten my bag and was stepping out from behind my desk. "Ready," I announced.
Riddian glanced my way, seeming suspicious at my hyper behaviour. He didn't waste too much time thinking about this regardless and instead shook his head and started walking again. I should've known my luck would not last long afterwards with my experiences in the past, but a girl can hope can't she? It hadn't even been ten paces later when he stopped once more and then slowly turned back to me.
"Wait... weren't you supposed to meet my father today?" he asked with an eyebrow raised. I grimaced.
Crap... I had been caught.
Turning towards him slowly, I gave the brightest of smiles.
"What?" I drawled with a fan of my hand. "I don't even... what are you... you don't even... argh! Why'd you have to remember?" I finally gave out, a scowl forming on my face as a small smirk formed on his.
He crossed his arms on his chest.
"So you were trying to escape him then?" he asked and I was suddenly feeling sheepish.
The silence that descended for the next few seconds confirmed that he had been correct, but me being me, did not want him to win that easily so,
"What? I would never!" I whisper-yelled as if offended.
Liar!
He gave me this look which made me seeth. "Hey don't give me that look mister! You are definitely no one to judge me! Do not forget all the times you refused to see your clients for reasons just as good as mine."
Riddian rolled his eyes at me but then returned to looking genuinely baffled shortly afterwards.
"Ms. Harrington, seriously though. Are you honestly telling me that you're not afraid of me but are afraid of my father?"
"Yes!" I replied without hesitation.
"Charles Remora?"
"Yes," I narrowed my eyes, pursing my lips.
"How is that possible?" he asked, now appearing even more confused.
