Mike lied in bed, his face buried in his pillow. His blinds were still drawn shut. Only a few cracks of sunlight shone through. On his nightstand, his watch lay there. It read 1:32 pm. He hadn't eaten breakfast or lunch. He just wasn't hungry, and too depressed.

Mike could hear approaching footsteps coming down the hall, followed by a knock on his bedroom door.

"Mike? Are you ok?"

It was just Nancy. Mike sulked there on his bed and didn't reply.

"I know you're upset, but it's one in the afternoon. Aren't you hungry? You haven't eaten all day."

Silence.

"Mike, you can't stay in your room forever."

"Watch me."

Nancy knelt down at the other side of the door. She reached into her hair and pulled out a bobby pin. She started meddling with the door's lock.

Finally, the door unlocked, and Nancy walked in.

"NANCY! GET OUT!"

Mike looked up, yelling at his sister. His cheeks were tear-stained.

"Mike I just want to talk."

"I don't want to."

Nancy came over and sat at the edge of Mike's bed.

"Are you crying about El?"

"Nancy!!!"

"I thought you said she was 'ew no gross'?" Nancy smirked.

"What? No, Nancy stop it."

"Fine, fine. Sorry."

Mike turned in his bed, facing the other way.

"You know you can talk me. I'm your sister, and I'm here for you."

"You wouldn't understand."

"You're right, I wouldn't, but I can at least try to help you. I care about you, Mike."

"I know. Thanks."

Mike sat up. Nancy grabbed him and pulled him into a hug.
