Poem #106

"I was a rare flower
Blossoming with beautiful bright colours
When people looked at me, I helped them feel something good again
Maybe it was hope, or the simple amazement that in a world of destruction I was still growing
I was a flower made specifically for those who needed to see the love in the world
I did not have thorns or poison, I did not see the reason for no one has tried to harm me
I was too precious and trusting
So when you came along and begged to be as happy as me, I said yes
But then you grabbed me and pulled me from the earth, ripping my roots from the ground so that I was dangling in your grasp
I couldn't breathe and I could feel myself and all my beautiful colours fading away
You had killed the flower that gave people life
So when you found that I had nothing left for you, you dropped me and walked away
I slowly started to wilt away and people would whisper about how outstanding I had once been and snicker as I struggle to paint myself happy colours again and burry myself back into the ground
You took everything away from me,
But I don't even hate you for it."
