Poem #150

"And this girl
With the hazel eyes and wild hair
Was the kinda girl who made you feel something when you looked at her
Whether it was the indescribable aw over the way her dimple formed or how her freckles danced across her cheeks
Or wether it was your heart breaking when you realized that there was pain she was trying to hide behind her gorgeous smile and glossed eyes
Maybe she made you feel like you could do anything and reminded you of the good in the world
For she was planted in the middle of the dessert yet she grew to be the strongest flower
And whatever she made you feel it slowly pieced your heart back together with her own roots
But she only hoped that you too would do the same for her
Because she too had scars both visible and hidden
And also has the humanly urge to feel wanted and loved, but how she asked for it was almost like a whisper in the wind
Maybe this made me love her more
The way her laugh reminded me of fun summer days in June
Or her tears reminded me of the oceans blues
But one things for certain
This girl with the hazel eyes and the wild hair
Makes me understand that broken things can still be beautiful and rise again
And she lets me know that I don't have to live alone
This girl is my other half
And I'm proud to love her."
