Leeland walked towards the room Lexander told him would be his for the night when a foreign emotion took over him as he stepped into the bedroom. It was spacious and lit by a single tall candle. The glow from the candle graced over the bed which had a neatly folded brown trousers and a white wool blouse. He ran his fingertips over the soft fabric and hummed as he dropped his towel and pulled on the clothing. He smiled at himself as he hugged his arms around his lean body. "A little big, aren't they?"

Leeland whipped around to find Lexander leaning against the door frame with a smug look on his ancient face. "Quit sneaking up on me Vampire!" The biting anger of his showing from being surprised.

He chuckled, "I'm not sneaking, and I wanted you to see me. I hope all is to your liking."

"It is. More than expected." He walked up to Lexander and looked him in the eyes. "Tell me this, why are you so comfortable with that hunter?" his voice was lowered to a breathy whisper, which Lexander's hearing adjusted to. "Do you trust him?"

"Trust doesn't seem like a word to use as of yet... but he did help me mend myself back when I needed it." His lips formed into a small smile, "The hunter won't shut you out. Life happens, I cannot be so ungrateful to a man who saved my life."

"Oh, a life debt... so you've already had him then?"

Lexander chuckled, his eyes narrowing and he smirked. "Yes, you're quite wise for a pup."

"Well, this pup, has been brought up properly. And we're not unintelligent creatures, we do value knowledge especially to our youth's." He yawned and rubbed his eyes. "It's quite late Lexander, I think I shall turn in for the night... do sleep well."

"I will. Enjoy your slumber." Leeland hummed softly, walking back to the bed as he pulled back the sheets and got in. Lexander appeared at his bedside, their eyes locked before he blew out the candle.

"Sleep tight wolf, don't let the hunters shoot." Leeland sat up to growl at him but he was gone within milliseconds, the door shutting after him. He narrowed his eyes in the darkness and heaved a sigh. "Damned Vampires."

Lexander walked around the cabin, picking up discarded clothing and the empty bowls so he could wash them and put them away. He cleaned up whatever he saw needed cleaning then sighed as he looked back at the tidy space.

His ears moved before his eyes followed, the sound of the hunter's bedroom entrance creaking open. He waited for the hunter to come then smiled when he saw his bearded face. "Hello, Adam, did you enjoy your rest?"

"I did. Is the wolf sleeping?"

He glimpsed over to the door then shook his head. "Not quite. Why are you up?"

Adam chuckled, but it didn't stop and it made Lexander straighten his stance. The psychotic laughter of the Hunter ceased and his green eyes narrowed. "I woke up, with no aches, or pain or wounds." He grounded his teeth, then released a shaky breath. "What the hell did you do to me!?"

The Vampire swore as the hunter stomped closer. He knew he could outrun him but then he smelt silver and cursed his fastness. Adam pulled out the blade and cornered him against the cupboards. The blade was at the creature's neck and his eyes were connected to Lexander's. "It was only a little," the blade came closer, "—nothing that could affect you—it'll all be out of your system by the morning. I promise." The hunters' heart was racing, he dropped the blade, then stumbled away, bending over, his hands on his knees as he panted.

"You over excerpted yourself. Calm your breathing Adam." He touched his back and Adam scoffed.

"Oh hush up you. You... did this." he said. He fell back to the couch. Lexander stayed at a distance, the blade already in his hand, he leaned back against the fireplace as he twirled the burning tip against his fingertip. He poked his finger then watched as it bled a thin stream down his finger before it slowly healed back. "I have nothing to apologize for."

He set his guard down then walked towards Adam and kneeled before him. "It was the only way I knew to save you. You could have died before I got you home. I deeply apologize, but I owed you a life debt Adam, and seeing you die wouldn't have made my day any better." He said, tucking away a lock of curly hair behind his ear.

"Aren't we even now? I saved your life, and you, mines. Isn't your debt paid?" Lexander chuckled when he realized that the man was right. A life for a life, that is how the debt went and he had unknowingly paid it back.

"Well, if you say so..." he took a second to think, "I think it is." He took the hunters' right hand and placed the blade into it. "If you don't mind I'll leave tomorrow night. It's too late now, and the sun shall be too bright to trek through, so after sunset tonight I shall depart from your home." He stood up, brushing off the knees of his pants. "I thank you for saving me, you didn't have to, but you did. And I'd appreciate it if the boy stayed with you just a little while longer. Traveling with a vampire might get him in a bit of a tiff." Adam made a move to speak, but then saw that Lexander had already left him to himself. He hummed softly, his eyes watching the fireplace crackle. "Great job Adam, you shoved off a friend." He ran his good hand through his hair and stood with intentions of getting back to bed.
