Nightmare x Bitty! Reader

"Hello?" I shouted into the emptiness. I was currently in some dark place. There was nothing. Absolutely nothing. I sat down and folded my hands behind my head.

I laid on my back and yawned. I had been here for about an hour or so. It seemed that no matter how long I traveled I wasn't getting anywhere.

I closed my eyes and allowed myself to fall asleep.

I woke up to the ground vibrating. I sleepily opened my eyes and looked around. The first thing I saw was a skeleton. He was stomping towards me.

I rolled out of the way.

"Hey! Watch it!" I cried angrily. He could have stepped on me. The skeleton stopped and turned around. His eyes seemed to get wider when he noticed me.

"H-how did you get here?" he asked in surprise. He took a step towards me before getting down on one knee.

"Well," I shrugged, "I'm not sure."

"What does that mean?!" he asked outraged.

"It means I don't know. Doesn't really matter though. No one misses me." I said sitting back down and pulling my knees to my chest.

I was abandoned. The skeleton seemed to be thinking. He sighed after a minute and picked me up.

"H-hey!" I cried, gripping onto his hand so I wouldn't fall. He dropped me on his shoulder and kept walking. "Where are you taking me?" I asked, holding onto his jacket.

He didn't say anything but opened a portal and stepped through. I looked around and saw a tree. Half of it was day the, while other was night. He set me down in the middle of the tree and waited.

I looked at him, wondering what he wanted me to do. I looked back and realized what was happening. He wanted me to choose a side.

Almost without hesitation, I went to the night side. I liked the dark. I wasn't evil or anything, I just liked the dark. The skeleton seemed to like this because he smiled a very small smile and sat down on the night side. He laid on his back and closed his eyes.

I walked over to him and tried climbing up onto his chest. He opened one eye and saw me struggle. He chuckled before using one hand to lift me up.

I looked at him and sat down.

"(Y/n)." I said. He opened his other eye.

"Hmm?"

"My name, it's (Y/n)," I replied, laying down. I grabbed part of his jacket and pulled it over me. Using it as a blanket. He didn't say anything for a moment.

"Call me Nightmare," he said. I nodded.

"Night Night Nightmare," I said after yawning. In a few seconds, I had fallen asleep.

This is shorter than my height.
