The screaming never stopped. It was a constant, battle for say. In my mind. My will to live but depression kept going against each other. Not to mention my parents. They argued all the time.
I work up in a state of stiffness. I didn't want to move. I heard my alarm going off for what seemed like the 8th time this morning.
"HUMAN! GET UP!" I internally groaned at the sharp scream. I forced myself out of bed and picked up my (fav color) sweater on the ground.
I slipped it on and headed downstairs. The smell of fire instantly forced its way into my nostrils. I dragged my feet to the kitchen only to be greeted by a fire coming from a pot.
I didn't dare question at this point and just grabbed the mini fire extinguisher we kept for this reason. I stood next to the fire and put it out. I set the heavy 'lifesaver' on the counter.
"HUMAN! HOW DARE YOU ASSIST THE GREAT AND TERRIBLE PAPYRUS WHEN I DID NOT ASK!" he was pissed. I mumbled a sorry before heading towards the stairs again. "WAIT! DO YOU NOT REMEMBER WHAT DAY IT IS?"
I stopped and turned towards him. My face displaying a very tired and bored look. "No."
"IT IS THE DAY YOU WILL BE TALKING TO THE PEOPLE OF SNOWDIN! ABOUT WHY WE HAVE NOT KILLED YOU." I froze. I felt my throat start to close. I slowly shook my head.
"I-I can't." I stuttered out, messing with my fingers. Tangling and untangling them.
He gave me a stern face, "YOU HAVE NO CHOICE IN THIS MATTER. SANS! COME TAKE THE HUMAN TO THE TOWN SQUARE." He ordered. I watched Sans walk lazily in behind me and look at us.
"Let's go, kid," he said, yawning afterward. I felt my breathing hitch in my throat.
"No, no, no," I replied in fear. It seemed childish but I couldn't. Sans gave me an odd look. One you would give an insane person.
He grabbed my arm and in a flash, we were in the middle of Snowdin. People, er, monsters? All around.
"Is that them?"
"What's so important about them?"
"Yeah, they should just die."
My heart started beating faster at the second. I felt like I was going to pass out.
"Go on kid, boss is gonna beat both of us if you don't hurry this up," Sans growled, looking like he wanted to go home already.
I glanced around at everyone in a panic. The voices were too much. I took a step back and felt myself bump into someone.
"Watch it!" they screamed. I opened my mouth to say sorry but, I couldn't.
'You need to get out (Y/n)!'
The voice was back.
'They don't really care anyway. So what if you die?'
I nodded. Agreeing with myself. I whipped around and started pushing through the crowd. The moment I was out, I started sprinting.
~~~~~~~~
I fell to my knees. Trying to regain my breath. It took a few painful inhales but I didn't feel like I was being crushed.
I waited for a second and glanced at my surroundings.
"Waterfall," I said out loud. As if I had to declare where I was. I stood up on my noodle like legs. I hesitantly started walking towards my 'secret hideout.' It was actually just a place no one went to because no one liked it here. (I don't remember if its blood falls but it's gonna be waterfall plez don't kill meh)
My entire walk was filled with me repeating my past. It was never very happy. I came down here to die. My parents hated me. Hated each other. They only stayed together to torment me. They screamed each day and made sure I heard. School was never better.
I got bullied. Physically, emotionally, cyber, all of them. I don't think there was one day that I hadn't gotten told to go kill myself. Not to mention the one person that had loved me.
Didn't act like it around others. It was my older sister. She acted nice when it was just us but around my parents or in public. Forget about it. To try and deal with it, I made a presentation. Giving the statistics about the issues of bullying and everything. They laughed.
Just laughed. Started making jokes about it. Calling me names. I had enough. I left that instant and came to Mtn. Ebott. There was no hesitation as I jumped.
That's how I ended up here.
"Now I wonder if it's even worth it. If I'm even worth it." I murmured. I sighed and plopped down on the bench.
"Not a very happy story." A familiar voice commented.
"I haven't had a very happy life." I retorted, grabbing my sketchbook from under the bench. I pulled a pen from my coat sweater and started adding the last details to my image.
Sans sat next to me, not saying anything. I felt him lean against my shoulder, looking at my drawing.
"Shit kid, that's great." he uttered, surprised. I felt my face go red.
"Thanks." He didn't say anything but just kept watching me draw. I sighed contently and felt a small smile force its way onto my face. I heard a gasp and looked over to see Sans looking at me.
He didn't say anything. Just started going red and looked away. I shrugged and focused my attention back to my drawing.
It was a minute later when I felt a bony arm wrap around my shoulders. I looked over and saw Sans looking away.
"Shy skeleton."
"Shut up."
