* the two of you met in the summer of 1993, when you two traveled to spend your vacation on the beach

* Richie saw you on his first day there and from that moment on he couldn't take his eyes off you anymore

* you were lying on a towel in the sand and he couldn't help staring you

* you were just so pretty

* he felt the urge to go talk to you, but all he could do was sit on the sand in the distance and take glances at you

* he wasn't subtle about it at all and you could easily notice the boy's gaze

* he was disappointed in himself for not having spoken to you when you left the beach

* he couldn't get you out of his head for the rest of the day

* wouldn't it be nice if you got together this summer?

* for the next two weeks, he'd look for you when he got to the beach and sit somewhere near you, but he wouldn't talk to you (even if he wanted to, he didn't have an excuse to talk to you)

* but things changed at the beginning of the third week

* he was once again sitting on the sand, watching you walk away when he noticed that you had left something in the sand

* your sunglasses

* the perfect excuse

* Richie grabbed your glasses and ran after you, handing them back

* you were so grateful because those sunglasses belonged to a friend of yours and you would be in so much trouble if you had lost them

* you two talking for a few minutes before you have to leave

* after that, Richie started to come to you to talk

* and during the next week you became friends

* you two discovering that both of you were staying with your parents in the same hotel

* and that you came from different states

* Richie flirting with you shamelessly

* and trying to give you hints that he might or might not be interested in you

* "I wasn't even going to come with them." you told Richie as you walked through the hotel, eating ice cream.
"How come?" Richie asked, paying attention though his gaze was focused on his ice cream.
"I was a little upset." You shrugged. "I was having some problems in my town and I wasn't in the mood to travel." Richie noticed that you looked slightly uncomfortable. "But when I saw my parents putting their suitcases in the cab I thought there was no better way to get away from my problems than to go away from that place."
"Well, that's good." you looked at Richie with a raised eyebrow. "I mean, it sucks you were having problems, but it's good that you decided to come" he smirked at you. "And blessed me with that beautiful sight that I'm having right now."
You chuckled, shaking your head, before returning to eat your ice cream. As you approached your rooms, you saw a girl in a bikini coming out of her room, which reminded you of tonight's event.
"Oh yeah, we still on for tonight?" you asked the boy, seeing that he had ice cream around his lips now. You had to suppress a laugh. Damn, Richie.
The Tozier boy didn't need much to remember what they had planned for that night. In fact, Richie couldn't be more excited about it. There would be a party on the beach and the two would go together, well, you would meet there. That was his chance to impress you or something. "Of course we are." he said excitedly. "It's going to be so fucking fun."
You smiled at the boy's animation and nudged him. "If you think that's a blessing." you gestured to your body. "Wait to see what I planned to wear today."
"It'll be easy to find you there then, I'll just ask for the hottest girl in the party."
You laughed at him. "Richie, you're the worst." you shook your head. "What about you? You know what you're going to wear?"
"Hell yeah."
