Christmas parties are so overrated. Like, really. I get that people want to celebrate Christmas with their friends and sometimes even classmates but it's never really a good idea. Sometimes, it's just a recipe for disaster.

For example, last year, our class was forced to throw one and we were all obliged to join the games considering that they'll randomly pick a person's name from a box. Let's just say, it ended up with me crying out in pain and being wheeled out of the classroom to the nurse's office only to be brought to the hospital to check if I broke my foot. It was only a sprain but I couldn't walk for almost a week and had to suffer from severe cabin fever.

I was honestly two seconds away from using the cane my parents and aunt– who by the way lives with us– made me use to beat a person senseless. If it wasn't for the useless foot, I would have had the handle lodged deep into someone's skull. My brother was away at the time and wasn't going home for the next week and my best friend was away with his family so i was stuck in my room with adults annoying me. A fun idea of a Christmas break, right?

"Y/n, please! It will be fun, I promise! If anything goes bad, I'll take responsibility for it and help you as much as I could. Just please go to the party!" My best friend begged, giving me the puppy dog eyes together with a pout.

"But Shawn!" I whined, pouting as well. "You know I hate parties! And I would barely even know anyone other than you!"

"Then I'll stay by your side! Come on, y/n, we haven't seen each other in months! Go with me, please."

"I have nothing to wear."

"The theme is red and white. I know you have a white blouse somewhere despite owning a closet that would make a depressed widower jealous. Just match it up with your usual leggings and boots and you're good to go."

"Ugh! FINE! But you owe me for this."

He broke out into a grin and stood up, hugging me tightly to the point that I could barely breathe. I rolled my eyes at his childishness but hugged back. Having a crush on this weirdo is definitely not helping me when it comes to resisting the puppy eyes.

"Thank you! Thank you so much, y/n! I promise you won't regret it!" He said, kissing my cheek before pulling away and dragging me to my closet to get changed.

"I'm already starting to." I muttered, looking at the clothes hung in front of me as he leaned against the door, watching me struggle to find a white blouse. Emphasis on the word blouse since apparently, a plain shirt would apparently be informal. This is definitely the disadvantage of being obsessed with dark colors.

"Shut up."

He chuckled as I finally found what I was looking for. It was a white, puffy sleeved open-shoulder blouse I had bought– and forgotten– months back for a friend's birthday party. I went to one of my cabinets and took out a plain black garter belt as well as a pair of black leggings. I went over to the bathroom and changed into it, putting the belt around my waist considering that this blouse makes my chest seem bigger than usual. (Sorry if you can't relate– not trying to offend anyone– but I suffer through this a lot and it's annoying af)

I slipped on a pair of combat boots before moving on to my makeup. I usually get too lazy to put on cosmetics other than mascara, bronzer, lipstick, and probably baby powder but since I'm best friends with an award winning artist, I'll be going to a party with tons of celebrities so might as well do my entire face. I primed my face, put on foundation and concealer, did a little bit of contour , and baked before getting to the fun part– the eyes. I put on a light brown shade on the crease, then darkened it up a little. Next I just went in with a shimmery gold eyeshadow on the lid and blended it with the brown on the outer corner. After that, I did a winged eyeliner and mascara, brushed the bake off, put on bronzer, blush, highlight, and lipstick and I was good to go. I brushed my hair down and kept it that way.
