What if everything around you is not what it seems? What if there were creatures that one could never imagine living among your kind? What if only 20% of the world's population are humans while 32% are vampires, the 33% are werewolves, and the remaining are either fairies, nymphs, hybrids, witches, and the like? Some know of their existence yet some are still denying their presence.

"On the year 1476, creatures of all kinds signed a contract to live in harmony. At least until someone steps out of line." Monsieur Jean explained as my brothers decided it was time for a nap. Of course I was the only one listening. "Yet despite this treaty, vampires and werewolves still considered each others as enemies. It wasn't a bloodless war, I'll tell you that but on 1529, they finally agreed to at least be civil with each other. Thus the creation of the 16th Century Accords."

He looked up from the blackboard and sighed, noticing the four vampire princes passed out on their desks. He picked up one of the large dictionaries from the table beside the board and slammed it on the wood. The four jerked awake in shock. I stifled a giggle as I shook my head at them.

"I wish I didn't have to do that every lecture but it seems as if your sister is the only one that actually cares about your own kind's history." He stated, raising his eyebrow at them as they all sent him a glare. "For that, you four have to memorize and understand the Accords from section one to three hundred forty-five and present it tomorrow morning. As for you, y/n, just write a five hundred word essay on it, explaining your understanding and if you agree with the terms due the day after tomorrow. That's all for the day."

We all stood up and made our way out of the study. Ben, Chris, and Daniel all gave me a hug before they made their way to their rooms. And yes, we do have rooms. Whatever misconceptions about vampires sleeping in coffins or not sleeping at all are all far from the truth. Actually, even the fact that we could not be exposed to direct sunlight, the belief that we burn when we see a crucifix, or cannot eat garlic are all lies created by our ancestors in order to live among the humans. In fact, I would much rather believe in the humans' God than the moon goddess.. I wish the same went for werewolves but wolfs-bane and silver really are their weaknesses. However, they were given the gift of mates, one that I am envious of.

"Ethaaaan." I whined, grabbing onto my older brother's arm.

"What do you want this time, y/n?" He asked, chuckling as he messed up my hair.

"Can I go to town, please? I was planning on either buying a book or art materials."

"Fine, just be back before dinner."

He pinched my cheeks and handed me money before I made my way out of the house. It's the advantage of being the youngest and only girl among the five of us, I always get what I want. I have gone to town so many times before yet everything just keeps leaving me in awe. From the stalls selling flowers to the shops selling food or clothes, everything is just so damn colorful, a good change from the slightly monochromatic building I call a home. I went into the nearest bookstore, one that sells supplies as well. The aesthetic of the place was homey, with the wooden shelves and tables scattered around the venue, not to mention the smell of coffee in the air.

I walked towards the historical section and looked for a book regarding the discussion earlier. Something about the vampire, werewolf war made me drawn to it for some reason. As I traced the spines of the hardbound covers, I felt the sudden urge to look behind me as an unfamiliar scent filled my senses, a scent that I could not describe. It surely wasn't another vampire, heck even human. I turned around and met a pair of dark brown eyes that widened in realization as it met my red ones.

"Mate." He muttered under his breath, a soft growl erupting from his chest.

Holy shit. What? We slowly walked over to each other yet stopped a couple of inches away. This couldn't be happening. Is this even possible? I mean, he's cute and all with the way his brown curls fell onto the front of his face and his soft looking, pink lips but how could this be real? He's a werewolf. I could tell it by his eyes and as I have said before, they're the only creatures with mates.
