Have you ever felt like you shouldn't go to school since you will definitely have a hard time adjusting considering that you don't know anyone? I mean, I should be used to transferring from school to school by now but the anxiety of not being able to find a decent friend is still high. The only advantage to this compared to the past five transfers is the fact that one of my closest cousins goes to the same school.

"You ready?" My mother asked me for the sixth time in the past three years as I shrugged my bag on.

I just wordlessly nodded and walked out of the car. I rushed to the doors of the building only to be met by my over enthusiastic  cousin who ran over to me with a squeal and hug. I stood as still as I could, feeling awkward and uncomfortable as I waited for her to get off me.

"Um... y/cousin/n, I'm happy to see you and all but kindly get off me please." I said, trying to get her off.

"Oh, sorry. Forgot that you're not really a hugger." She laughed and pulled away, only to grab my arm and drag me into the unfamiliar building.

I groaned as I followed her, having no say in what to do. She started talking to me about the various teachers she has experienced, how difficult the quizzes they have forced their class to take, and even how she was able to persuade the principal into making sure that we were in the same classes. I let my eyes wander across the cream and brown halls as she babbled on. My eyes suddenly met a pair of deep brown ones, looking at  me intently, as if trying to study me. Those eyes belonged to a boy clothed in all black,  his curly hair slicked back with loose strands falling onto his face.

"Y/c/n." I nudged her, not taking my eyes off the guy. "Who is he?"

She followed my line of sight only to forcefully turn me away and pulled me away as fast as she could. I looked behind me, as if trying to find those eyes once again and was only met with students rushing towards their classrooms before the belle rang. Once we reached what I'm assuming is our lockers, she grabbed my shoulders and forced me to look at her.

"Y/n, I need you to listen to me and I mean, listen to me carefully. You will not go anywhere near him. Understood?" She said sternly, panic written all over her face.

"Why? Who is he?"

"He's trouble. He's known to be capable of ruining someone's life in just mere seconds so please stay away from him, I'm begging you. I get that you're new and you're curious but I'm only telling you this for your own sake."

I sighed and nodded.

"Good. Now this is your locker and here's your combination. Hurry up and place your things in it since we need to get to class."

I did as I was told and followed her to the first class we had for today. As we went inside the room, all heads turned to us, interrupting the teacher's lecture mid sentence. He turned to us as well and let out a sigh of irritations as the same emotion filled his eyes.

"You're late, (your cousin's last name)." He stated in a monotonous voice.

"I'm sorry, Sir. It's just I had to show my cousin where her locker was. She just transferred and-" My cousin rambled on until she was cut off.

"Take a seat, Ms. y/c/l/n."

She lowered her head and sat down on an empty seat. Sadly, that seat did not have a vacant one beside it.

"You must be Ms. y/l/n. I am Mr. Benson, your teacher for Literature. Your tardiness is accepted for now but I must inform you, we do not tolerate students who are always late. You may take a seat beside Mr. Mendes." He said,  pointing to the only empty chair left... which happens to be beside the guy I saw earlier this morning.
