Chapter 31

Yugyeom's POV
"No... I can't..."
Even though I don't have a heart, I had the most worst heart ache ever.

I stood up and closed the ring box, confused.
"Hye Mi.. Why? Why must you say no? Do you not love me? Do you still think that I'm cheating on you?"

She was trembling, shaking, so badly, tears poured down to both of our faces.

"Yugyeom, sweetie, I love you, I really do with a burning passion but-"

"Is it because of... Jungkook?"

She didn't reply, so I am right. It's because of Jungkook. He ruined my whole life now. I can't be with the woman I love because of him...

"It's not because of Jungkook. Don't jump into conclusions. I'm just not ready yet!"
She raised her voice a little as she wiped her tears.

"I'll wait. I'll wait until you're ready, I will be patient and-"

"Yugyeom, I don't want to marry you. Please.. Let's just... Break up.."

My heart froze.. Am I hearing things now?

"Hye Mi, it's not over yet. I'll find out who is stealing you away from me and kill him, I want to be with you!"

Hye Mi's POV
I regretted everything... Everything I have done to myself.

"Let's break u-up.."
I repeated myself with a cracked voice.

He hung his head down and let out a heavy sigh.

'I'm really sorry, Yugyeom...'

"Let's at least be friends, Yugyeom. I don't want to lose you as a friend."

"Yugyeom? What's with that luggage? Where are you going?"
My dad asked.

I was staring at Yugyeom from the stairs. I truly feel bad. I hurt him, and I hurt myself.

I suddenly felt empty without him. He used to comfort me and help me through ups and downs, but now, I lost him as a loving boyfriend.

"Abeoji.. I won't be able to call you that anymore since.. Hye Mi and I.."
He looked up to me and flashed me a weak smile.

"Hye Mi and I broke up..."

Suddenly, Jaebum popped out of nowhere and screamed.

"You two broke up?! Why the fuck would you do that to her?!"
He exclaimed, grabbing Yugyeom by the shoulders.

Before Yugyeom could speak, I jumped down the stairs firmly and spoke up.

"I dumped him... He did nothing wrong."
I confessed, looking down to my curled up toes.

Jaebum and dad's reaction was priceless. I couldn't describe it.

"What?! Why?!"
This time, my dad ran to me and pulled my ear hardly.

"Why did you ruin my dream?! I dreamt of Yugyeom proposing to you last night! Why must you ruin it?! I want you two to be together! Now I won't have any grandchildren!"
He huffed, crossing his arms above his chest.

"I did propose to her, sir.. And she-"

"I rejected him.."

"WHAT?!"
Jaebum and dad exclaimed together in a high pitched tone.

I ignored them and walked over to Yugyeom's side, fiddling with my fingers nervously.

He chuckled, pulling me to his embrace as I dug my face in his chest.

This will be the last time I'll ever be taking in his typical scent and warmth...

"You don't need to apologise. I'll visit you every other day and I'll be a better man. I just want you.. to be happy. That's all."

I melted at his words. He is such a good man, how could I ever let him go? Well.. I already lost him...

"Go find a better woman. You're too good to deserve me."
I mumbled against his chest as his shirt was drenched with my tears.

We pulled away from each other. Yugyeom pressed his lips onto mine and before I knew it, I kissed him back.

"I love you, Hye Mi."
He heaved out.

"I love you, Yugyeom."

"Princess Sofia.."

"Prince Charming.."

"Angel.."

"Devil.."

"Pinkie Pie.."

"Apple Jack.."

"Panca-"

"Are you both still dating?"
We stopped when we heard Jaebum clearing his throat.

I chuckled and pecked Yugyeom's lips for the last time.

"Bye, come visit me soon."
I whispered as he opened the door.

"I will. Bye, pancake."

"So, why did you want to meet me?"
Jungkook asked as he placed his chin on his hand.

He was going to take my hand but I gently pushed him away.

"I broke up with Yugyeom.."

I looked out to the window and sighed.

"I'm so-"

Before he was about go apologise, I cut him off.

"Because of you."

He tilted his head to a side and raised his brows questioningly.

"I broke up with him because of you."
I said firmly, I was fighting, fighting so hard not to let my tears down.

His eyes softened, as he sighed.
"Why would you? You loved him didn't you? Why would you break up with-"

"Because I love you too and I don't want to do that two-timing thing!"
I finally let out and looked down.

Jungkook went over to my side and sat beside me.
He threw his arm around my shoulder, pulling me closer to him.

He left a peck on my forehead and caressed my hair.
"I'll make you happy, I promise."

"Thanks..."

Hye Mi's Dad POV (first time 😂🙈)
Is it just me that's really concern about Hye Mi and Yugyeom? I mean, they were doing so good until now..

But why break up on their 1st anniversary? Why now? Why?

I sat down on the couch, thinking about it and tried to combine everything.

Yugyeom proposed to Hye Mi but she rejected him.. Why though?

Am I just overthinking?

"Appa, what's wrong? You seem bothered."
I shoved away my thoughts when Jaebum sat beside me.

"Ah son, nothing really.. I'm just thinking about why Hye Mi didn't accept Yugyeom. He's so tall, he can dance and sing, he's every girl's dream boy..."
I mumbled but loud enough for Jaebum to hear.

He kept silent for awhile but then, he hesitantly spoke up.
"Maybe... Maybe it's about Jungkook.."

My eyes widened, Jungkook, that guy, yes, from 2 years ago.

I remember Yugyeom told me that they met Jungkook a few weeks ago.. Could it be?

"Appa, stop worrying, I'll go find out. If it is Jungkook, I'll kill him. Don't you worry, I won't let that vicious vampire ruin my sister's life."
He placed his hand on my shoulder and assured me.

"No, if your sister finds out that you are the one who killed him, she'll be very and I mean, very upset. I'll hire someone to kill him. We do not speak a word about this to Hye Mi."

Just as I said that, the door swung opened.

"Speak a word about what?"
