Being a waited was tiring.

You hated it.

Guys would randomly come and and attempt to make a pass on you day in and day out.

You always wondered why they did. Maybe out of pride or to show off to their friends?

It was never certain.

One thing it was though, annoying.

That or you'd get those random ass customers who felt entitled to “the customer is always right,” bullshit.

“Ugh.. Another day, another another hell like day…” you sighed, walking down the street and turning into a small restaurant.

It was Christmas time, and like usual, you were working the day shift, something that had become a tradition ever since your four years working there.

I mean, it was a decent job with good pay, and the manager was a nice person. Plus, it was an all female staff, all but the cashier being young women between the ages of 16 and 24.

It was like family, especially I'm such a big city where none of your relatives lived.

You ran into the locker room After walking in thought he back door of the place, taking out your uniform before changing into it.

“Hurry up Y/N, we have full house tonight!” your manager yelled joyfully, peering inside the locker room to see if you had arrived or not.

“Sure thing ma’m,” you responded as eagerly as she had.

Working on Christmas morning sounded like a bad idea, but the pay was extra good since it was one of the few places opened all day in the first place.

You tied your apron behind your back, grabbing your hat and placing your pen and note bad in the small pocket holder that was sewed onto your apron.

“Table three just got 4 customers, could you take that table?” your close friend and staff member asked, pointing you in the direction of a table near the window of the store.

You nodded, immediately taking out your notepad and pen to begin taking orders.

You grabbed a couple menus from the counter, placed your hair behind your ear, and walked forward, ignoring the witty remarks your coworkers were making of the people who were seated at your table.

Sighing, you walked over to them and placed the menus in front of them, not looking up at them and simply saying the usual things you said to customers.
