Yoongi: Even if not for presidential elections, if you're 18+, you should definitely sign up to vote. Politicians in your area are deciding on big issues such as gun reform, tax cuts, healthcare, and immigration laws. This will decide if teachers can have guns at school, if children of immigrants who we're born in America, such as your Author Nim (Miss Marili), can be considered a legal citizen here, and even if people like her can go to college without drowning in debt later in life.
