As an older Army, and someone who began writing these reactions at age 16, I want to give you a Then Vs Now on my views of BTS.

I hope this will be a nice way to see growth in not only the boys, but my views from a child to a grown woman. I am now 20 years old (as of 2020) and just like these men, have grown up a lot. I still have ways to go, but here are some Then Vs. Now views, as well as mild regrets.

***Kind reminder that this is MY PERSONAL VIEW of the boys. By no means is this factual. WE DO NOT KNOW BTS, WE ARE NOT THEIR FRIENDS, so all of this is based on assumptions, and what we see at face value.

Let's begin...

With Kim Seokjin!

Before: Jin in all my reactions then, and how I saw him then, was as the mother of the group

Before: Jin in all my reactions then, and how I saw him then, was as the mother of the group. He fed everyone, made dad jokes, and was a protective parent. He had temper tantrums and scolded the members like a mother would, and more often than not, in my reactions, was nothing more than an overbearing mother who loves to cook and being called eomma. He is self-centered in my reactions and has a huge ego, loving nothing more than himself and his own reflection.

Now: Jin to me now is nothing like a mother, although I fall into the bad habit of writing him that way

Now: Jin to me now is nothing like a mother, although I fall into the bad habit of writing him that way. He's an older brother with a lot of likes and dislikes, someone who is stern and mysterious. He holds many values, and is very strict with the way he presents himself to others. Jin is the eldest, and therefore, presents himself in that light, mature and unwavering of his feelings. He protects the others like an older brother would, and although he excels at cooking, he is a bit nerdy and a somewhat devoted collector. He collects things he holds dear to himself and his childhood/life. He is an introvert dressed as an extrovert in the public eye, covered in an ego he does not own, a false high self-esteem he has grown to believe in slowly, but something that falters every so often. He is far more intelligent than people give him credit, and although he likes being playful and joking, (of course speaking of his dad jokes and puns), he holds himself accountable for a lot of things, and the weight of being the eldest sits heavy on his shoulders. He is his own worst critic and is far more likely to be harsh on himself for slip-ups or mistakes. He is someone who shows us what we want to see but not who he truly is. We know about his character the least, and will only know what he wants us to know. Overall, he is a loveable goofball who tries to not take himself too seriously but will become a dignified and mature man when the situation calls for it.
