"So he's connected to that...shadow monster?" Frankie nervously questions.
The entire time they've been in here, the new presence of a certain Sheriff was setting her off. He keeps examining her, trying to figure out how she fits into the situation. She doesn't like it to say the least.
"Yes. I-It's like a spreading infection," Joyce confirms, nervously pacing the room. "Frankie, are you sure you're alright to be here?"
"I don't suppose she has a choice now," Alex scoffs, suddenly appearing beside the girl. "You've dragged us all the way back to this hell hole, and who knows if we'll be able to get her back out."
Joyce lets a scream fall from her mouth at the sudden figure, and Bob nearly faints.
"What was that?" A guard calls, and Alex disappears.
"Nothing!" Mike responds in place of Frankie.
Hopper steps towards the girl, now allowing his suspicion to get the best of him.
"Who the hell are you?" He shouts, causing a commotion.
Mike stands in front of her defensively, pushing the sheriff away as she cowers behind his figure in fear.
"Stop yelling! You're scaring her! You're gonna wake Will up!" He barks.
"Every body just stay calm!" The girl begs, whispering loudly. "I swear I can explain."
Everybody stops their commotion, looking between each other in speculation. Mike still stands protectively in front of Frankie, waiting to see if they'll give her a chance.
Finally, Hopper settles down, and Joyce along with Bob sit patiently in their chairs
Stepping out of Mike's shadow, she begins to tell them all about the gates, and how the piano works, but most importantly how the gate still hasn't closed.
Hopper is silent with shock.
There were other people like Jane?
Then, it hits him. She's still home all alone!
"So...you see dead people?" Bob whispers.
"Yeah," she nods. "Well, they aren't technically dead right now."
"Yeah, but they can go in between, right?" Joyce hums.
"Yeah," She confirms. "Look, the ghosts and I just don't want to be here. As soon as the gate closes, if I'm stuck in here, they basically are too."
"We aren't stuck in here, we're just waiting it out. They're gonna help Will," Joyce assures.
As they all come to an understanding, Mike calms down a bit, but keeps his guard up when Hopper glances at them. They all sit quietly, waiting for the doctor to return with some sort of news. Anything.
Frankie grows more nervous as she waits.
Finally, Hopper leaves the room, going to try to make contact with 011.
Joyce gets so fed up with waiting that she tries to follow. Bob goes to try and calm her. The guards don't let her through, and Will awakes from the commotion. He stares at them for a long time before Mike finally says something.
"Will? Will?" He calls, causing the boy to flinch out of thought.
Will looks dazed, and out of place. Frankie doesn't trust the look in his eyes for some reason.
"What's wrong? Are you hurting again?" Mike questions.
"I saw something..." he shudders.
"In your now-memories?"
He nods.
"The shadow monster. I think I know how to stop him," Will blankly states.
Frankie knows somethings wrong.
