CHAPTER : Wedding Bells and Murder
"Well, love is insanity. The ancient Greeks knew that. It is the taking over of a rational and lucid mind by delusion and self-destruction. You lose yourself, you have no power over yourself, you can't even think straight."- Marilyn French
The morning of John and Mary's wedding, Sherlock and I sat In the flat. I watched as he waltzed around in his dressing gown holding a Imaginary partner as he danced to the music. Mrs. Hudson walked in causing Sherlock to look over his shoulder and contuinued to dance.
" Shut up, Mrs Hudson."
" I haven't said a word." She said as she set down Sherlock's morning tea. Sherlock let out a sigh as he continued to waltz
"You're formulating a question. It's physically painful watching you thinking." He said as he suddenly stopped dancing. I glanced out the window, letting my mind wander. I was better then I was than the day that Jensen had confessed his secrets to me but I still wasn't fully okay. The conversation faded away till I was lost in my own thoughts. Today I just had to make sure everyone believed I was fine, And that meant everyone. I could hear the taunting words of Sebastian in my head, I winced as I heard the whispers. Come on Gwen, You can do this! They are Just messing with your head don't let them.
"So - it's the big day, then!" Mrs.Hudson said excitedly jerking me out of my trance like state.
" What big day?" Sherlock asked. I got up and shuffled my way into the kitchen, not uttering a word to either of them
"The wedding! John and Mary getting married!"
" Two people who currently live together are about to attend church, have a party, go on a short holiday and then carry on living together. What's big about that?" Sherlock said glancing at Mrs.Hudson.
" It changes people, marriage." Mrs.Hudson said with a smile.
"Mmm, no it doesn't."
"Well, you wouldn't understand 'cause you used to always live alone." She said as Sherlock lifted the teacup to his mouth then stopped.
" Your husband was executed for double murder. You're hardly an advert for companionship." he muttered taking a drink of his tea.
"Marriage changes you as a person, in ways that you can't imagine." Mrs.Hudson said. I started to make breakfast, my attention anywhere but cooking. What was wrong with me?
"As does lethal injection." He said with a smug grin
"My best friend, Margaret - she was my chief bridesmaid." Sherlock sighed and set his cup down as Mrs.Hudson talked. He rolled his eyes at her obviously not wanting to listen to her story telling "We were going to be best friends forever, we always said that; but I hardly saw her after that."
": Aren't there usually biscuits?" Sherlock spoke. I zoned out again my mind reeling with thoughts about everything that had happened over the past couple months, I felt my hands start involentarily shaking, the shook more and more now every day. I felt as if I was loosing my mind. Slowly but surely I had noticed I was slipping, I was slowly slipping away from everyone I loved and at the moment I wasn't sure if I cared.
"Biscuits!" Sherlock yelled loudly. I jumped being scared back into reality , I glanced at the clock then cursed as I noticed the time. I hurried and walked into our bedrooom, Sherlock followed a few moments later he took off his dressing gown as he glanced at his suit
