What the hell is that?!

I felt like my body had started giving up, I was slowly losing consciousness, I couldn't look away, I couldn't run to grab my dear brother and hold him for my life. All I could do was to stare at those lifeless dots and mentally cry for help.

The dots got nearer and I saw the outline of a shadow slowly approaching my frozen body. But the second I thought it would finish me off he took a turn to his right and my heart sank as I realized it was after my brother.

I closed my eyes to concentrate on moving. I felt as my inner body was on heat as I tried to move my cells.

I knew I hadn't had much time left and just thinking of losing my brother brought so much anger in me I closed my eyes tighter and screamed with all my might to push my body forward.

As I had planned I ran to my brother and snatched him from that shadow thingie's arms or whatever they are.

He launched at me as I ducked down and made a run towards my door, unluckily that creature got hold of me and I started going up higher and higher.

My fear of heights clicked in as my body started to shake, but I still managed to hold my brother in my shaking hands, not wanting to drop him.

I screamed and screamed louder and louder but no one seemed to hear me as I was still alone facing this evilness.

''Put your brother down.'' Its voice held so much coldness and roughness in it that it sent shivers in my body as I shook my head violently and screamed again.

''PUT HIM DOWN''

''NO'' I screamed and kicked but nothing made him put us down. I realized that violence wouldn't help me this time and tried to be polite as I whispered 'Please' shakily.

''I won't hurt him.'' Its deep voice made every piece of me shake as it was full of demand.

''No, please.'' I cried out and hugged my brother tightly. ''He's just a little boy.''

Silence irrupted around us as I sensed us going lower. I sighed in relief as I felt the cold floor on my bare souls.

I looked up from my brother's neck, my vision still blurry but I could outline its shape. It was a shadow. A human's shadow with two lifeless and dead-looking eyes that glowed in the dark. Just looking at them made me feel empty inside.

''Thank you.'' My voice barely audible, but I saw it nod a little.

''I didn't come here to do any harm to either of you.'' Still terrified of losing him, I pressed my brother to my chest and looked at its every move causing a shiver to appear at its every word.

''Why then?''

It moved closer to us, causing me to back away.

''I had to find the purest heart.'' I looked at it confused as to why was this thing looking for a heart, it didn't look like it had a place for a heart at all.

''What...W-who are you?'' I felt ashamed to call him 'what' so I just looked down.

''I'm a shadow.'' I looked up quickly and raised an eyebrow. ''Peter Pan's shadow. You've heard of him, aye?''

I was speechless. Peter Pan? Seriously?

''Is this a dream?'' I asked quietly as it shook its head. ''It is.'' I thought out loud.

''No.'' It flew around and landed in front of us. Its actions caused a light breeze towards me and George as he shifted a little and continued his soundless sleep.
