''Are you kidding me?'' He just rolled his eyes and nudged me forward.
''Come on, it's not that high.''
''It's not that high? Pan, it's bloody 10 feet!'' I exclaimed while glaring at him.
He took me to his treehouse, apparently, this is the only place where he can answer my questions.
''You were hanging in the air for two days,'' He raised his eyebrows and nudged me again, but I haven't moved an inch.
''Well, I didn't have much choice there, did I?'' I crossed my arms and looked up again. How the heck am I supposed to climb with bare feet?
''Fine, come here and close your eyes,'' He pulled me closer and wrapped his arms around me, with my face directly against his chest. Thank god he can't see my burning cheeks right now.
I felt my feet slowly leaving the ground as the cool breeze swayed my hair a bit. I clung to him tightly but there was no need, I knew he wouldn't drop me.
We landed softly on a woody surface, I slowly pulled away and smiled up at him.
''Who knew you could be kind,'' He rolled his eyes at me and gestured me to go inside.
''I'll change my mind if you don't shut up,'' I raised my hands in mock surrender and walked into the house.
It wasn't much, but the aura was more than calming, now I get why Pan comes here often.
My eyes explored every inch of the house, taking in every detail. It had a window right next to the door and near the window stood not so comfortable looking bed, in the middle of the room was a wooden chair and a desk with papers laying on it messily. There were a few candles as well, some new and some halfway burnt.
''You quite finished, yet?'' Asked Pan who was lying on a bed I mentioned earlier. He sighed after I nodded and told me to sit down.
''So...'' I started but he cut me off.
''You're here to listen, not to bug me,'' I closed my mouth so I wouldn't sass back and nodded.
I moved the chair closer to Pan and sat down quietly. He was staring up at the ceiling, deep in thought. I wanted to break the silence again but decided against it, what if he gets mad and then refuses to answer me?
''What do you wanna know?''
"I thought I was here to listen?"
"Don't try me," His not so mocking glare amused me but I wouldn't waste this opportunity for answers to tease him.
I stayed silent for a few seconds. What did I want to know the most?
''Who's Alexa?'' I fixed my gaze on his expression but he hasn't shown any.
''Does it matter?'' I rolled my eyes and glared at him, he just answered with a smirk.
''Pan...!'' He chuckled lightly and moved so he was facing me with his whole body.
''I like the fact that you're jealous,-''
''As if-''
''But there's no need, Alex is my sister.'' A sister. She's his sister. A mermaid is his sister. Wow.
''Great. So, how's that possible again? I mean she's different and not with just having a tail, but the appearance as well.''
''Step-sister.''
''Oh, but still... She's a mermaid.'' He shrugged and smirked evilly.
''She pissed me off so...'' Oh god.
''You made her like this?'' He nodded, a smirk not leaving his face.
''How could you do this to your own sister?'' I asked in disbelief.
''That's another story, she's safer this way.''
''But-''
''She's...safer...this...way.'' He cut me off with a glare and smirked after seeing me return one.
''You're a horrible brother.'' His shrug only made me angrier, what kind of brother does this? He practically ruined her life!
''Do you have more questions or...?'' I nodded again as he raised an eyebrow, waiting for me to ask.
"Why doesn't the island let me leave?"
"I don't have an answer to that. I wish I did, but not a clue."
"But...nevermind"
There are so many unanswered questions flying in my mind, but I know he won't give me an honest answer to them. He doesn't know how to trust people, of course, he won't share his secrets with me. But I know something I can ask him, as a favor.
''Look, this isn't a question you expect but... Can I ask you a favor?'' He furrowed his eyebrows and nodded skeptically. ''Well, you see... I'm quite lonely by myself and I could really use a company sometimes,'' I stopped talking there to check on him.
He was smirking. ''If you wanted me that bad you could've said so.''
''Not you!'' I exclaimed while trying to hide my blush from him.
''Then who? Wendy?'' I shook my head, Wendy would never talk to me again after what I did to her that day.
''Micheal.''
''Micheal?''
''Yes, Micheal...'' He set up on the bed and leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees and his fingers intertwined.
He looked at me after a long minute of silence and smirked. ''You know, he asked me the same thing earlier today.''
A smile crept upon my lips as I listened to him. ''That's nice.''
''Yeah, well... I'll think about it.'' I nodded still smiling.
''Thank you, Pan.''
''I haven't agreed on this, why are you thanking me?'' I shrugged and stood up, walking up to him as I smiled while sitting down beside him.
He turned his head to look at me and raised his eyebrow at my smiley face.
''You did.'' He opened his mouth to protest but closed it and sighed while rolling his eyes.
''Fine, but don't let him out of your sight, he wonders off every time and you don't want him to get hurt, do you?''
''Nope and neither do you.'' He rolled his eyes again but said nothing in return. He's still got a soft side if that's what you call soft but still, he cares about his lost boys and now that I know about Alexa, he might care about her too.
''You're not as bad as you make yourself seem like,'' He huffed but stayed silent. ''Thank you for today, Pan.'' I smiled again and leaned forward to leave a small peck on his cheek. He tensed a little, but I could see the corner of his lip curved upwards.
''You're welcome.''
