''It's so beautiful...'' The faint voice echoed. The bright (E/C) eyes gazed up at the moon. ''How can the world be so beautiful, even after all the things we've done to it.''

The low chuckle was heard after her words as the deep raspy voice answered. ''We've never touched the sky.''

''Hmm, true. But still-''

''The moon is beautiful because it's far. We can't touch it. We can't ruin it. It's pure and that's why it's beautiful.''

She smiled at his words. Only if he knew about NASA. But his words... It doesn't matter how hard she tries to deny it, she can feel her heartbeat quickening up.

Two pare of eyes found each other in the darkness, followed by the low raspy voice whispering quietly.

''I've always loved the idea of not being what people expect me to be, but somehow it's changing and I don't like this.''

''You don't have to change for people to like you.''

''Isn't it what you want me to do?'' Maybe, but not exactly.

''I never said I wanted you to change the person you are, I just want you to realize that hurting people who care about you, will leave you lonely at some point.

After some time they're gonna be terrified of you. They'll stop fighting for you. What are you gonna do when you need someone to talk to? To share your feelings? Being nice, doesn't mean being weak. Friends and family only make you stronger, because you'll have something to fight for. You'll get even stronger for them. To protect them. I know you understand this.'' Her sparkly eyes were shining with hope, waiting for his response but it never came.

Another minute of silence passed until she spoke up again.

''Pan.. I know you care about them. They know it to, but you need to show it.'' Her soft hand made contact with his muscular arm, that tensed at her touch.

''I can't.'' He spat his words out, but with sound of it he was angry with himself. ''I can't just be ...nice all of a sudden. It's harder than you think. A lot harder. Don't you think I would get rid of my demons by now if I knew how?'' He was standing on his feet looking down at the confused girl.

''What are you talking about? What demons?''

His hands captured his sandy brown hair in frustration as he answered her question.

''It's more complicated than it seems, I promise I never wanted for the boys to get hurt. Even Wendy. Recently I've gone softer and I hate this. I absolutely loath this. I can't be good!"

"Why?" She stood up slowly facing him.

"Because I'm weak! Because I'm not strong enough to protect people I care about! I have to absorb the power from the darkness that's slowly eating my heart, or else I won't be able to keep them safe." He poured his heart out to the girl standing in front of him.

She stood there speechless, frozen on the ground with her heartbeat racing quicker and quicker by every passing second.

He was breathing deeply while waiting for her response.

"I.........." She finally whispered out. Her voice hardly audible.

She took one step closer to the black eyed boy. Then another and another until she was close enough to feel his deep breath on her face.

He hasn't moved an inch. Maybe because he was enjoying her closeness.

"There's more in you than I've expected. I'm truly ashamed of myself for not giving this another look, I'm sorry, Pan."

Her voice slowly lost its volume and cracked at the end. The tears fell down on her pale cheeks.

He didn't know what to say or do. No one has ever apologized to him. At least genuinely. The questions kept forming in his head, but he couldn't ask her anything. He couldn't even look at her in this state.

"Don't cry, girl." They were rather soft and careful words coming out of his mouth. Perhaps it was his tone that made her do her next move or the fact that she felt sorry about everything she's said to him. Yes, there should be more explanation about his behavior but right now, what she's got is enough.

To his shock, she leaned in and hugged him. And as crazy as it may sound to you, he slowly wrapped his arms around her and took the comfort she was offering to him.

They both knew her being there with him wasn't a coincidence, they found each other when it was the hardest time of their lives. And they found each other to save them from the cruelty of world.
