One night changes everything

Emma and Regina were sat in the lounge. Emma had her hand over Regina's stomach like she did all the time she was pregnant. Regina felt something. "Did you feel that" she asked sitting up confused. She thought it might have been a kick. Emma shook her head and said "what is it" Regina shrugged it of and rested back down. A few minutes later she felt it again. A little more painful. She sat up and said "there it was again... Emma?" She looked at her  brunette girlfriend confused.

"I think I'm in labour" Regina says looking down at the stomach. Emma's eyes went wide. "That's not possible. Regina your only 8 months pregnant" Emma says sitting up. Regina shook her head and said "Emma it doesn't matter how many month right now this baby is coming and it's coming now" Regina got another one quiet a bit more painful. Emma stood up and ran upstairs. She grabbed the labour bag before running downstairs. Regina screamed a little in pain this time.

"Aaaarrrrrr" Emma heard coming down the stairs. Regina was sat up holding her stomach in pain. They had to wait until the contractions were 30 seconds apart. After 2 hours the contractions were finally 30 seconds apart. They new then that she'd be in labour long. Emma drove them quickly down to the hospital. Once there they put Regina into a wheelchair and pushed her to a room. Emma followed them. On her way she called Kat and told her to tell everyone Regina is in labour.

After another hour Regina was still in labour. She was on the bed with Emma next to her. She had hold of Emma's hand and held onto the bed as well. "AAAAARRRRRRRR" Regina screamed as another contraction came. "It's ok Gina. How you doing" Emma asks rubbing her back. "How does it sound like I'm doing? How much longer of this" Regina says looking down at the midwife. She looked up and said "your at 9cm. 1 more to go and then you can push" Regina's eyes went wide and an old memory came back.

"Emma I can't do this" Regina says panicking. Emma looked confused and said "why not Gina? Bit late to pull out now" Regina felt another contraction and said "aaarrrr! I can't do this again. Emma I've been pregnant before and lost the baby. I can't loose this one" Regina was once pregnant during a one night stand like this one but with a guy. He left her to raise the baby alone. Regina went into labour like she did today but the baby died in Regina's stomach. It chocked on the umbilicord while she was at 9cm.

Emma had no idea about this but she knew she had to keep Regina calm. "It's ok we won't loose this one. Just push as hard as you can beautiful" Emma says before kissing her head. Regina was sweating and crying in pain. "Your at 10cm Regina. Time to push" the midwife says looking at Regina. Emma prepared herself for how hard Regina was going to squeeze her hand. Regina nodded and took a few deep breaths. She pushed as hard as she could and squeezed Emma's hand while screaming.

Emma looked over and said "Gina I see the head" Regina smiled and said "you can? Ok. Ok let's do this" knowing they can see the head reassured Regina this baby is coming out alive. She pushed again and got most of the body out. "One more push Regina" the midwife says and Regina nodded before pushing again. The baby came out and Regina relaxed. She let go of Emma's hand but the blonde was convinced she broke it. The midwife rapped the baby in a towel and said "Regina it's a healthy 6 pound baby boy"

They both smiled as she handed the baby to Regina. "Emma you get to pick" Regina says looking down at the baby with the biggest smile. Emma sat on the bed next to her and rapped her arm around her. "Henry. After your father" Emma says looking down. Regina's father passed away a few days after they met Emma's nan. He was hit by a car and it broke Regina's heart. Regina's eyes teared up as she looked up at Emma. She pecked her girlfriends lips before looking at her son.

"Hey Henry" Regina says smiling. A tear ran down her cheek. Emma kissed Regina's head and said "he's adorable. I'm the luckiest person on earth to have you both in my life" Regina looked up and pecked her lips. She lifted the baby up and gave her to Emma. "Look. He has your eyes" Regina says still holding Henrys hand with her finger. Emma handed Henry to Regina. She smiled at him and said "it's crazy how much I love him. I love you baby but I didn't realise I could love a person more than you"

Emma laughed and said "I know. I love him so much it's crazy" Regina kissed his head and said "I can tell he's already going to be so smart like you. I can't believe I have this little child finally in my arms" Emma kissed her head and said "I know it's about time. You pregnant is crazy" they both laughed. After a few minutes they took the baby for checks. Emma sat next to Regina. The brunette cuddled into her and said "thank you"

Emma looked confused and said "for what" Regina looked up with a smile and said "for naming the our son after my father" Emma kissed Regina softly on the head. "I know how much it hurt you when he died so I thought it was something he'd like and I knew you would" she says holding her close. A tear ran down Regina's cheek as she started kissing Emma deeply. After an hour they were allowed home. Regina had hold of Henry in the car while Emma drove home.

"He has your little nose" Emma says glancing over. Regina blushed and tried to hide it by looking away. Emma laughed and said "it's cute don't worry. I can already tell he's going to look like you" Regina looked at her smiling softly and said "except with your eyes. He's lucky to have your eyes you have beautiful eyes" Emma glanced over at her and winked. Regina looked down at Henry and smiled. He had hold of Regina's finger and wouldn't let go.

Soon they got home. Regina gave Henry to Emma so she could take a shower. Emma sat down in the lounge with Henry. Obviously she knew Henry was her child but she still didn't feel fully like a mum yet. It wasn't until Henry held Emma's finger in his little hand and made a little noise did Emma finally feel is. "Hey my baby boy" she says smiling and looking down at him in her arms. "I love you" she said looking down at him. He then fell asleep in her arms still holding her finger.

She just stayed looking at him. With one hand she had behind his head she rubbed her thumb across it. Regina came down the stairs in her pyjamas and stood in the doorway. She looked at them and smiled. To think she nearly missed out on this. To think her parents could have denied her this. Regina has never felt anything like this for someone before. She leaned against the door and smiled at them. Emma looked up and smiled at her.

Regina sat down next to her and rested her head on Emma's shoulder. "I love you Emma. More than you will ever know" Regina says looking at Henry. "I still love you more. I want to spend forever with you" Emma says looking at her. The front door then opened. Kat came running in and said "where is he" Regina stood up and Kat hugged her tight. "You did it" she said looking at Henry but still hugging her. They pulled away and Kat bent down in front of Emma. "Kat can you hold Henry while I speak to Emma" Regina asked softly.

She nodded and stood up. Emma gave Henry to her and stood up. They went to the kitchen. "I want to explain what I was talking about while in labour" Regina says before explaining everything. When she finished explain she had tears in her eyes. "I'm sorry" Emma says pulling her into a hug. Regina kissed her shoulder and said "it's ok. There's a grave for her. She was going to be called Isabelle. That's where I sneak of to on Sundays" Emma held her close as a tear ran down Regina's cheek.

On the grave of Isabelle it said I never held you, but I felt you. You never spoke, but I heard you. I never knew you, but I love you. Regina went threw more than she cares to admit when the baby died. Katherine remembers and was there for her. She met Zelena and Ruby a year after. Emma held Regina close and swayed side to side.
