"Y/n... Your communication device is vibrating," Pearl groaned as Y/n's phone danced around the night table from the powerful vibrations, which woke Pearl and Y/n from their sleep, much to both of their dismay

"Hmm?" Y/n reached for their phone, but couldn't reach since Pearl was in the way, so she grabbed the phone and handed it to Y/n, "Thanks,"

"Who is trying to contact you so early?" Pearl asked

"Uh... Don't worry about it," Y/n told as they looked at the notification of the texts from Steven

"Is it Steven?" Pearl asked with an irritated tone

"...I plead the fifth," Y/n said

"The fifth what?" Pearl frowned

"Go read the US constitution," Y/n told as they opened their text app

"Alright, I will!" Pearl told as she climbed out of the bed and opened up Y/n's laptop

Steven: Or would that be today since it's past midnight?

Steven: IDK the point is I told Lapis to find you and then you can lead her to the docks, alrite?

You: Lead her to the docks for what?

Steven: Dad rented a boat! It's gonna be fun!!

You: ok, what time exactly is she coming over?

Steven: i told her like 12pm

You: does she have a clock?

Steven: Peridot has her tablet, she's in on it 2

"No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger?" Pearl read out as she peered at Y/n's laptop screen, "What does that have to do with Steven?"

"No, not that part," Y/n sighed

"Nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb?" Pearl read, still confused

"The next one," Y/n told

"Oh, this makes more sense," Pearl said as she read the passage out loud, "Nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself,"

"There it is," Y/n nodded as they set their phone down

"So... I'm assuming that was Steven?" Pearl said

"I can't confirm nor deny anything," Y/n told, "But apparently I'm taking Lapis to the docks tomorrow at around 12,"

"Oh, alright then, I guess I'll just head out before than," Pearl said as she walked back to the bed, much to Y/n's surprise, "Is something wrong?"
