Unraveling the last few strands of my french braid, I fluffed out the soft waves before turning around to get a good look at myself.

Exhaling lightly, I smirked at my own reflection.

Yes, for the first time in what seemed like a hundred years, I was feeling myself.

Just a few minutes prior, Prince had called to let me know that he was on his way, and how the anticipation ravaged through him. Indeed he needed to be ready, for what I had in mind.

After securing the tie of my silk black robe, I lit a few of my favorite vanilla scented candles, just to set the mood.

Stirring the wooden spoon into the charcoal grey pot, I splashed just a dash of lemon juice into the special meal prepared for Prince.

Table set, a bottle of white wine on ice, and just a few more minutes for the food, everything was going along with the plan perfectly.

The clock struck 6:40 as I swiped the duster across marbled counter. Something is missing I thought, and eyes panned over to what I liked to call my music center. Filled with a plethora of vinyls, tapes, and CDs, I thumbed through them all, selecting an album containing instrumental jazz hits.

Once the music was on, my body landed against the sofa, preparing to wait. But just as my head eased back, the doorbell rang.

My date had arrived.

"Who is it?" I playfully spoke.

"A friend that's come to play with you."

After opening the door, the sight almost frightened me.

"I know, not quite what you were expecting."

There stood Prince, overnight bag in hand, large glasses concealing his eyes, a heavy trench coat, scarf and a hat to match. Not to mention also the fake and extremely obnoxious mustache above his lips.

Shutting the door I giggled at him. A disguise! Definitely clever and bright none the less, but this guy went all out. He was certainly something else.

"Say mama aren't you gonna kiss me?"

"You know I am, but only when you remove the caterpillar from above those succulent lips. I wasn't exactly planning on choking tonight."

Peeling the mustache from his skin, Prince gave me a funny look.

Wonder what's that about..
