~YS Life~"H- hey Y/N," The kawaii pota- I mean- Oko Ruto, called.
"Hi Oko," I greeted, then he's carrying something that caught my eye. "What's that for?" I asked.
He looked down at the bouquet of fresh red roses. "Um... Ki- Kizano told me to g- give this to you..."
I cringed at the name. Why can't I forget what he did to me yesterday? "Oh. Why?"
He shook his head. "I- I don't know either... I think it's better if y- you ask him..."
I shrugged. "I guess," then accepted the flowers. "Thanks, anyway."
Oko clutched tighter onto his book again. "It- it feels weird that I gave you f- flowers, though... there's this... weird sensation... that's flowing in my body r- right now..."
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Are you allergic to flowers?"
"N- no.""You're sick?"
"I don't think so..."
"You slept late?"
"No..."
I tapped a finger on my chin. "Unsuccessful demon summoning?"
Oko sighed. "Y- yes, that's probably it."
"How many times have you successfully summoned a demon, exactly?"
He avoided my eye contact. "Once."
Wow, he didn't stutter that time. Why am I complaining like it's a big deal? Oko is Oko, and he's cute the way he is! Wait, who am I talking to...?
I thought hard. "How about this, I'll reasearch the steps to summon a demon, and I'll help you guys tomorrow. Sounds good?"
For the first time, he showed me a genuine smile. "R- really...? Then... that's g- good news. Thank- thank you, Y/N..."
I nodded. "No problem."
It was quick, but he hugged me gently, like I was made out of glass.
We walked downstairs to the Occult Club room.
"By the way," I interrupted the silence first. "Do you have someone in mind?"
"S- someone in mind...?"
"You know, crush."
His eyes widened. "C- crush...?!" Oko exclaimed a little louder. Again, first time. "Actually... there- there's someone... b- but I doubt she likes me back..."
"What do you mean? I'm sure the girl will like you."
"B- but... what if she... f- friendzones me...?" He asked next.
"That's just what you're worried about?"
He sighed sadly. "Y- yes. I'm sure she won't like a... a freak... like me... hunting and s- summoning demons... and supernatural things..."
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Oko. Do you really describe yourself like that?"
"I- It's true, though..."
"No, you're more than that. We all have our hobbies and interests, don't change it just because of that girl. Besides, if she won't love you for who you are, she doesn't deserve your love." I smiled, patting his back.
I picked three flowers from the bouquet, then handed them to Oko. "Here. Give these to her. If you're too nervous, leave these on her desk, then write a note saying it's from you, but just write your initials on it."
He thanked me again, then he gasped.
"What, what is it?" I asked him.
"The- the- the ritual knife...! It's- it's not here...!" He pointed at the skull on the table.
My eyes widened. God. Not now. "I'll take care of this, don't worry! I- I gotta go! Bye!"
