Johns Pov

"JOHNNN!!!" My wife (y/n)'s voice echoed throughout our house

I dropped the hockey stick I was taping and ran out of the garage

"Babe what's wrong?" i asked as I ran up the stairs trying to reach our shared room as quick as I could.

"The Baby! it's coming" She whispered as she groaned in pain

I looked at her in disbelief "let's go!" I yelled as I helped her up.

"You are dilated 10cm Mrs.Tavares it's time" the doctor informed us . I smiled as I held onto (y/n)'s hand tightly

"It's time Baby it's time" I whispered as my wife smiled slightly,tiredness was evident on her face but I knew she was just as excited as me.

"It's a boy" the doctor cheered and I smiled brightly.

I'm a father to a baby boy! I'm a father, I have a family with the most amazing woman out there.

After an hour or so our baby boy was brought into the room

"He weighs 7 pounds and 8 ounces"

I smiled as (y/n) carried our sleeping baby boy.

"What should we name him?" I asked

"He looks like a Chase don't ya think?" (y/n) asked looking up at me

"Chase Tavares... I like it" I laughed

"Would you like to hold him?" (Y/n) asked

My hands began to sweat "uh, he looks comfortable right now when he wakes up I will"

My nerves we're sadly starting to overweight my excitement and happiness

I'm a father now! I'm a father! it's great but it's also one of the biggest responsibilities a man faces in his life, what if I mess up? what if my Own son doesn't like me or look up to me? what if my job comes in between my family and I?

"John...Babe you'll be an amazing father, our baby boy will love you and he'll play hockey with you and go to all of your games to cheer you on"

I looked at my wife "I was talking out loud again?" I blushed

She nodded before diverting her attention to Chase, who's eyes fluttered open

"Guess your going to carry him sooner than you thought" she laughed

I bent down and picked Chase up . he looked up at me and blinked a few times "wow! he's incredible" I exclaimed kissing his forehead

"He gets it from his daddy" (y/n) joked

I shook my head "trust me he gets it from you Hun"

"Home sweet home" I said as I unlocked the door and carried our baby Chase inside.

"I'll put him in his room since he's asleep. you go rest darling" I whispered as I unbuckled Chase from his car seat.

(Y/n) smiled an mumbled a quick Thanks before heading upstairs.

After I rested the baby in his crib I ran downstairs and walked into the game room. I bought (y/n) a pandora bracelet and the only place I know she barely enters is the game room. I grabbed the square black box and ran back up stairs.

(Y/n) was laying in our bed reading a magazine and I laughed quietly "are you not tired?" I asked

She shook her head slowly "I'm too happy to sleep"

"Well in that case, I would like to give you something" I grinned before sitting next to her on the bed "I love you so much, you gave me the greatest gift of all, a baby boy and I hope we can have more kids as the years go by. I wanted to give you this pandora bracelet because every charm I put on there represents ever gift you've granted me" I explained as I pulled out the box from behind my back

(Y/n) opened the box and tears filled her eyes "John Babe I love it and I love you so much you gave me so many blessings I couldn't ask for a greater husband and I know Chase couldn't ask for a greater dad either. I'm glad it's you That I'm spending the rest of my life with and I'm lucky your all mine"

I leaned over and moved the magazine aside before gently hovering over my beautiful wife. I kissed her forehead and cheeks before finally letting my lips land on hers. she began to kiss me roughly but we we're interrupted by a cry.

I broke away from (y/n) and smiled at her "I'll get him! You sleep"

"But what if he needs changing you don't know how to that yet" she laughed

I shrugged "there's a first time for everything"

Becoming a dad had to be the best day of my life!

Guys i really want hockey to start right now! I just miss it so much 😔😫

There shouldn't be an offseason hockey should be year-round because I have no life and I watch a lot of TV plus I'm always on NHL network to hear the latest news and they always remind me about how hockey isn't until fall! gosh I even had a dream I was watching a hockey gam between Edmonton Oilers & Dallas Stars! I think I'm loosing my mind a little 😱🙊🙊
