((if this isn't already kinda obvious, I'm kinda manipulating the whole timeline of the magical world in order to make the story seem a little more interesting, and I'm gonna kinda be doing that again in this chapter.... so.... without going into too much detail about what's about to happen, I pushed the HP series up six years, so instead of it being 1995 it's 2001, and I pushed up the FBAWTFT series up... like... a lot, I'm not exactly sure, I just didn't want Newt to be an old man okay! Anyway, I'm sorry if that upsets any of you, but this is MY story, so GET OVER IT! I'm kidding, I love you all, enjoy the chapter.))
"Hey! Ray!" Luca called up as he chased the Ravenclaw up the stairs, towards charms, a class they had together but sat at opposite ends of the room for. He reached Ray and grabbed their wrist almost exactly as they both reached the top of the stairs.
Raymond turned around and faced the other boy, "yeah?" they asked raising an eyebrow, "what's up Lu?" they questioned.
Luca swallowed and looked down at the ground nervously. He dropped Ray's wrist, and Ray crossed their arms over their chest. "Ha.. Have you heard from (y/n) recently?" he asked, rubbing his arm awkwardly.
"Not since her last batch of letters," they admited, "why? is something going on?" they asked, a sudden worry in their voice.
Luca cleared his throat, "well.... uh..." he cleared his throat again, "I was... I was just, you know, just wondering," he forced a small chuckle nervously.
Ray immediatly called bullshit on what Luca was telling them, "Luca," Ray began, putting a hand on Luca's shoulder, making Luca look up at him, "what happened?" they basically commanded an answer.
"There was... there was an incident.... in New York... I don't know... I wasn't sure if...." Luca shook his head, "could you.. could you just..." Luca pointed at Ray's bracelet sheepishly.
Ray followed Luca's gaze to their wrist and nodded, "yeah, I'll go tell Flitwick, He liked (y/n), he'll want to make sure she's okay too," they explained.
Luca nodded in agreement, "y,yeah, okay, good idea," he began to ramble.
Ray chuckled and shook their head, walking into the charms classroom to explain the situation to the head of the Ravenclaw house, he would understand their concern, right?

"Hey Ray," (y/n) waved at the arrangement of magical dust that formed her friends face, and the arrangement waved back.
"Hey," they forced a smile before they turned their head, "I think she's okay," they said to someone behind them before turning back to face (y/n), "you are okay right?"
(y/n) chuckled, "Yeah Ray, who's with you?" she questioned curiously.
Now was Ray's turn to chuckle, "well," they rubbed the back of their neck, "kinda everyone," they admitted. They turned their bracelet and showed the entire class, "we're in Flitwick's" they chuckled again.
(y/n) couldn't help but laugh, "that's amazing," she chuckled, "hi guys," she waved to the class that she could no longer fully see, but knew could see her in Ray's bracelet.
Then Luca showed up behind Ray, "what happened exactly?" he asked. (Y/n) couldn't help but smile to herself seeing Ray and Luca hanging out together made her happy, she honestly thought that would be a cute couple, but now she wasn't sure if Luca would ever actually ask Ray out due to Ray being non-binary.
(y/n) shrugged, "the no-maj's suspect it was a terrorist attack, but I'm guessing it was something more based on how quickly they called Queenie, Tina, and Newt in," she stated.
"What do you think happened?" Ray asked more out of curiosity than concern, but (y/n) didn't notice, and she didn't really care either.
She shrugged again, "I think two planes took out two of the tallest buildings in the world," she stated, "and I don't think it really matters who did it, terrorist, no-maj, or not, as long as we figure out how to keep it from happening again."
Ray nodded, "right," they took a deep breath, "well, we just wanted to make sure you were safe," they smiled.
(y/n) smiled back, "that was very sweet of all of you, now get back to work, I'm not going to be the reason none of you pass your owls," she chuckled.
Ray gave a small salute "alright, stay safe," he smiled before the call was cut and the magical dust receeded into the bracelets center bead.
"BYE!" (y/n) called out as the dust disappeared with a smile and a wave. She wasn't sure if any of them had actually heard her, but she didn't care, she was happy her friends had called to check up on her after what had happened. Her school had been canceled, and Newt, Tina, and Queenie had been out since the first plane crashed, (y/n) wasn't even sure if Jacob knew, he was still at the bakery.

"See, I told you she'd be fine," Ray ruffled Luca's hair, being taller than him it was easier to treat him like a little kid.
Luca rolled his eyes, "yeah, yeah, you wanted to check on her too you ass," he teased, shoving Ray away jokingly.
Ray chuckled, they shook their head disapprovingly, "go sit down, we have OWL's to pass," they joked before they walked over to their own seat and sat down.
Luca nodded, "yeah, I know," he groaned and went to the back of the room where his seat was and sat down as well. He pulled out a piece of parchment and a quill to take notes on whatever Professor Flitwick was about to teach.
Ever since (y/n) had left, Luca found himself spending more time with Ray than he had when she was still here, they were, in a way, Luca's connection to her, but overtime he realized he kept hanging out with them for a different reason. It was weird, Ray didn't define themselves as anything, they weren't male or female, they weren't both either, they just... were, and Luca found something completely mesmerizing about it. How easily Ray excepted who they were, and how open they were about it too, Luca wasn't sure if he was jealous of Ray or if it was something much more. He may never know for sure, and he definitely would never tell.
Regardless of the thoughts swarming in Luca's head, Flitwick went on with his lesson as if nothing had even happened in New York, as if, just because it happened an ocean away, it didn't effect any of them. Like (y/n) wasn't on the other side of that ocean just begging to come home.

Umbridge and her rules continued to spread like a virus, it was like nothing could stop her. Draco tried everything he could think of to get (y/n) back into Hogwarts, but nothing worked.
Draco had failed, he failed her, he failed her friends, he failed himself. There was nothing left he could do... He felt so useless. He couldn't be there for her, he couldn't help her, he would have died to get her back into Hogwarts. If anyone belonged here, it was her.
"Mr. Malfoy," professor McGonagall's voice snapped Draco out of his trance, "are you with us?" She asked.
Draco nodded, "of course professor."
((so.... I've been debating on weather or not to end this book at chapter 50 or to try and continue it on to chapter 100, I don't think I have enough ideas to go on to 100 chapters, but if I only go to 50 I can possibly bring it back in a sequal book later down the line. Regardless, I want your ideas on another book I should do in case I decide to end this book at 50. Is there a type of story you'd like to see me attempt to write in? If you have any ideas or opinions let me know, you never know what might spark an idea in my weird little brain!))
