(Y/n) followed Draco through the halls of Hogwarts like she had never seen the castle before. She stared at every moving painting and portrait like she hasn't seen each and every one of them hundreds of times before. She walked around Hogwarts like she was a stranger in the place that she had once called her home. She didn't talk to Draco, she was too scared of saying something stupid, of messing everything up, if she made Draco mad at her he wouldn't try to help her anymore, and then what would she do?
Draco seemed to notice how off she was acting, because he stopped dead in his tracks in the middle of the hall, turned on his heel to face (y/n) and raised an eyebrow accusingly at her. He could see right through her, and that upset him.
"What's wrong?" Draco questioned, crossing his arms over his chest and shifting his weight onto one side of his body, "you're not actually nervous about meeting my father are you?" he asked curiously.
(y/n) bit the inside of her cheek and took a deep breath, "I mean... yes, what if we can't change his mind? What if he really does try to kick me out of Hogwarts?" she wondered, her voice was hoarse and quite, her eyes were watering and her body was shaking: She was falling apart.
Draco took a step forward, without really thinking about what he was doing, he slowly stepped towards her. He wrapped his arms around her trembling form, and held her close to him as he felt her body finally give up fighting back.
(Y/n) began crying into Draco's chest, not a loud cry or anything, the tears just finally began to stream from her eyes, soaking the part of Draco's cloak where her head was buried in his chest. She wrapped her arms around Draco's waist and squeezed him tightly as she let herself cry. In that moment she was glad it was only her and Draco, (y/n) hated whenever people would see her cry, it made her feel even worse about herself.
Draco shushed (y/n) quietly, "It's okay," he whispered softly, "I'm not letting you go anywhere, you're not leaving me again," he promised, shaking his head and taking a deep breath to calm himself down. He had to keep his cool, for her sake.
Draco felt (y/n) relax in his arms, the tension in her body seemed to melt away from her, so he held her tighter. He rested his head on her shoulder and found himself taking in a slow deep breath of her... perfume? He wasn't really sure, but she smelled good.
(y/n) took another deep breath to calm herself back down, "okay, I'm okay," she sighed and pulled herself away from Draco's hold. She stepped back and wiped her eyes on the sleeve of her Hogwarts robe. "I'm sorry, I'm just nervous I guess," she tried to explain, clearing her throat awkwardly.
Draco forced a small yet comforting smile onto his face, "it's okay, I get it, you don't need to apologize," he stated, hoping he could make her feel better. Draco really didn't like seeing (y/n) this upset.
With that the pair continued walking through the quiet Hogwarts Corridors. The paintings mumbled quietly to eachother as Draco and (y/n) passed by, but none of them were loud enough for the two to make out what they were saying.
It wasn't much longer until the duo reached the headmaster's office, where they Griffin was waiting to let them in. They climbed the stairs and Draco waltzed into the office in front of (y/n), practically blocking her from entering the office.
"Hello father," Draco greeted, his tone of voice had changed, he was tense, he was nervous but he wasn't going to show it. This was the Draco his parents saw.
Another voice called out from the office, one (y/n) couldn't quite recognize, "Draco," it called, "come in Draco, we have much to discuss about what's been going on at this school," the voice snarled.
(Y/n) tensed up, the man seemed so angry... was it really all her fault he felt that way? would it really have been better for her to not go to Hogwarts? She didn't have much time to dwell on those thoughts though because just then Draco grabbed her hand and pulled her forward.
"first father I have someone I'd like you to meet," Draco stated, pulling (y/n) into the office beside him, squeezing her hand reassuringly as he did so.
The man in the office, (y/n) assumed it was Mr. Malfoy, looked (y/n) over curiously. He took a step forward as if to examine her, (y/n) shuffled awkwardly as her nerves grew bigger in her stomach.
"Who is this Draco?" Lucius questioned, his tone still held an annoyed tone as he spoke.
"this.. father," Draco turned to look at (y/n) as he began to speak, "this is (y/n) Goldstien, she's a Ravenclaw, and American Muggle born witch, and she's an absolutely incredible person..." he began to ramble, pulling himself back to look at his father again he took a deep breath and squeezed (y/n)'s hand again, "and shes my girlfriend."
