"Miss. (y/n)," Professor Snape slowly approached (y/n)'s desk, he seemed on edge and moved slowly, "you are being summoned to the Great Hall," he explained, his voice completely contradicting his expression.
(y/n) looked up at him, who would be asking to meet her in the Great Hall? "Okay, thank you Professor," she forced a smile onto her face before she stood from her seat and began to gather her things. Hogwarts had seemed foreign to her since Dumbledore was killed, it was all so strange, and now she was being asked to go to the Great Hall by someone. It seemed to all just get weirder.
Professor Snape nodded to her as she quickly walked out of his class, all her books hugged to her chest. He knew who was waiting for her in the Great Hall, he was about to tell her too, but he figured if she knew she wouldn't have gone.

Luca was sitting quietly at his desk in astrology when Ray walked up to his desk and sat down next to him.
"Have you talked to (y/n) today?" they asked, they didn't look up at Luca; instead, they stared blankly at the parchment that sat on the desk in front of him.
Luca cleared his throat, "No.. she was only in Snape's class for a little bit, then she got called down to the Great Hall.... haven't seen her since..." he explained with a small shrug.
Ray nodded in understanding, "okay, well, if you see her anywhere let her know I'm looking for her?" they asked biting the inside of their cheek.
Luca nodded back, "yeah I will," he cleared his throat again, "how are you?" he asked awkwardly, the two of them having barely spoken since... that night in the astronomy tower
"oh... um.. I'm good.. a little tired..." they chuckled, "and um.. what about you? how are you doing?" they asked. Ray rubbed the back of their neck nervously.
"I'm good too..." Luca sighed, He looked down for a moment before looking back over at Ray sitting beside him. He was silent for a second, then he took in a deep breath, "hey Ray?" he asked.
Ray finally looked up at Luca, "y,yeah Luca? what's up?" he asked awkwardly.
Luca swallowed, "I'm sorry," he mumbled before he cupped Ray's face in his hands, locking his fingers into Ray's hair, and pulling them closer to him before their lips connected together.

Newt Scamander had heard the news of Dumbledore's passing from a letter (y/n) had sent him the day that it happened, he was quick to respond back, sending letters to a collection of the professor's at Hogwarts as well to send his regards, but he hasn't heard from any of them since. Tina told him not to worry, clearly there was a lot going on, they wouldn't have much time to respond to letters yet, they may not even be allowing letters in. Newt knew Tina was probably right -she usually was- but he was still worried sick. Queenie and Jacob didn't help Newt's worrying either, they asked if he had heard from (y/n) almost every day, asking if she was okay and if anything else had happened. Newt wished he knew, but everything that was happening at Hogwarts was being kept completely quiet. No one outside that castle knew what was going on inside the walls, even though almost everyone on the outside would have done anything to know. Newt's creature's sensed his worry every time he came to visit them in his case. They were quiet, they barely moved, barely ate, it was like they too were growing depressed from the lack of (y/n)'s presence, like they too were becoming sick with worry for her.
Aslan was the worst. He wouldn't eat at all, and all he did was sleep. He barely got up, and he was back in his thestral form again, which made it hard for Jacob to help take care of him -Jacob couldn't see the thestrals like Newt and (y/n) could. Aslan didn't interact with any of the other creatures. It was really upsetting to see, the once terrifying creature shrunk to a tired and hollow version of himself, it was almost like he knew something was happening on the other side of the ocean, it was like he knew that she was hurt, and he knew there was no way he could save her this time.
Jacob and Queenie did their best not to worry too much, they did their best to have faith that (y/n) would be okay. They both knew she could handle herself fine, after all, she had done it for almost eleven years without the help of any magic. Surely she could handle herself at Hogwarts, she had her magic, she was friends with almost all the magical creatures on the grounds, and Newt always promised them that there was no safer place on Earth. They just needed to keep their heads up high and hope for the best.

When (y/n) arrived at the Great Hall she was met by a familiar face she really didn't want to see in that moment. He slowly turned to face her as he heard her shoes clicked along the ground.
"What do you want Malfoy?" (y/n) snapped, crossing her arms over her chest and clenching her jaw as she stared at him in a combination of curiosity and disgust.
Draco's face was cloaked in a thin vail of sadness, his expression was heavy and the dark pools under his once sparkling eyes proved he was lacking sleep. "You haven't been talking to me, I wanted to make sure you were okay," he explains.
(y/n) rolled her eyes, "no Malfoy, I'm not okay, Dumbledore is dead, I don't know how long I'll be allowed to stay at Hogwarts," she snapped.
Draco's face fell even more, guilt and regret mixing into his expression as he stared at the ground between them, he couldn't get himself to look at her. "Yeah, that makes sense," he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Oh good, I'm glad you realize what bullshit you're putting me through," (Y/n) growled, "I don't know how I could have possibly liked you, you only ever think about yourself and that's all that seems to matter to you."
Draco swallowed, "I.. I tried... I wasn't going to..." he began, he was doing his best to keep tears from rolling down his face. Malfoy's don't cry. He had learned that from a young age. "I was thinking about you, he made me think about you, that's why I lowered my wand.."
(Y/n) felt sick, "he... made you think of me?" she snarled, "because you didn't want to think about me, you only wanted to think about yourself," she shook her head.
"no.. because I didn't want to imagine how much this would hurt you..." Draco looked up at her, forcing himself to look into her eyes. His eyes were desperate for understanding, and his hands shook like crazy.
"Don't look at me like that," (y/n) snapped, "you knew what you were doing," she sighed and turned away from him before she stormed out of the Great Hall, not giving Draco a chance to get another word out before she was gone.
