Diary,
We are nearing Halloween now, and my progress with Olivia is undoing itself. I cannot seem to get her back on my side with mere charm; I know I will have to create a solid plan. Of course, it could be many easy on one of those missions we are sent on, but from last time, I know she can hold her own. I could also personally sabotage her, but I know she will discover it was me, and that would finish any plans for Olivia. No, I think it must be a grander romantic gesture, although I do not know what yet.
It is times like this I question why I want her on my side of all this. Olivia would be a powerful ally, and with her mermaid problem, I could definitely access more jurisdiction. Olivia's knowledge is very similar to mine, too, and I believe there are some traditional spells that originate from Spain she could teach me.
Another thing I do not understand is why I believe romanticising Olivia is the best way forwards. I am sure I could easily win her over without all this melodrama, but there is a foreign feeling I get when I look at her. I notice the other boys in our year look at her, and I want to murder them all.
Putting that aside, my search for Horcruxes has finally begun. I have decided on artefacts, particularly ones with point and power. I believe relics to do with Hogwarts will be perfect. I know the school are searching for them too, but I am not sure of the school's interest, as I am sure they belong with actual descendants, or perhaps in a museum? Yes, the founders founded the school, but my research shows none of the staff to be heirs of the founders. I simply cannot see the use of the relics at Hogwarts. However, only the cup has been discovered, so it may be worth waiting a while to discover the three remaining artefacts.
Should waiting out fail, I will take it upon myself to seek the objects out myself. This is another point to add where Olivia would be useful; she can delve into deeper waters than I. Of course, if I were to attempt her of her... special skill, it would then have to wait until all four parts are discovered.
In the meantime, I must think of the other three artefacts. I am thinking of possibly some sort of animal, something living. This would allow me, in the unlikely face of defeat, to be able to regenerate. I did think of an actual human being for a while- someone powerful, like Abraxas, or even Olivia herself, but it is too dangerous still, as both could easily be found to possess my personality.
Alas, I must still be careful. I can feel Olivia is beginning to suspect something, and I ought to reveal my plannings to her in a careful, measured way.
Olivia Ramirez may be the death of me.

The room to the common room door opened up, and Tom raised his head at the noise. It revealed Olivia, who looked more tired than she had in the past few weeks. Tom suspected it was the NEWTs; it was taking its effects on everyone, even Tom.
"Olivia," he greeted, and she eyed him suspiciously, as she did everytime he struck a conversation with her.
"Tom," she replied, and his insides gripped with her accent. There was something about it that a subconscious part him liked. "What are you doing?"
"Working," he answered simply. "Olivia, I was wondering if you would accompany me to Hogsmeade this weekend. So that we may plan for the upcoming Halloween ball," he added quickly, seeing the rejection form in her mouth. Tom watched Olivia debate it in her head.
"Bien," she agreed and went to head to her bedroom. Instinctively, Tom intercepted her before she could reach the stairs.
"You look tired," he commented.
"Gracias," she replied sarcastically, rolling her eyes. Olivia went to push past him, but he gripped her shoulders.
"Are you sleeping well?" he inquired. Olivia sighed.
"What does it matter to you?" she asked.
"It matters. A lot more than you think."
"Well, I'm sleeping fine, thank you very much." Olivia stormed up the stairs, and Tom didn't believe a word she said. That night, before Tom went to sleep, he decided to check on Olivia. Tom knocked on her door gently, and with no reply, entered. Olivia did seem to be asleep, but Tom knew she faked it; when he first started sharing her bed, she would often do so. Tom sat in the corner of the chair in her room, watching her sleep until he dozed off. She looked so peaceful, he thought, her face smoothing itself out, with little snores making their way into the room. It was his last thought as he let sleep claim him.
