guys... i've got a new laptop! it's the dell inspiron 13 5000 series if ur interested, but if you remember what happened to my old one... this is more of my baby than Olivia now.

let's start a new thing for every chapter: a question!  i want to interact more with you guys and what better way than questions? i'll even pick someone to dedicate the next chapter to. so, this chapter's question: who's your favourite character and why? personally, i ofc love olivia with all my heart but asides from her, it has to be eve bc she's so badass.

Olivia lightly traced over the long scar on her hips, wincing slightly as baby bolts of pain shot through her, jumping at the sensation. According to Tom, the way to remove a tail without reversing the process was to make a cut at the hips, and you could add a potion to sever the tail and legs into the cut or add a different potion that allowed you to pull the tail off the legs. Both would greatly affect the now human, as even the second one would leave them paralysed from the hips down. Even then, you could suffer a great deal emotionally like Olivia was because she didn't want to lose her tail. To Olivia, her tail was very much a part of her and her life; it was really what made her and fuelled her passion for subjects such as Care of Magical Creatures.

Removing her hands, Olivia let her jumper fall down as she stepped away from her mirror and went to sit on her bed, pulling out a book to read. It was really late evening, and all Olivia wanted to do was sleep. However, fatigue had not yet overcome her, because lying in a hospital bed for a week did that to you. With the hope that reading would lure her to bed, she lay down.

It wasn't long after this that Olivia was disturbed by Eve, who came running in, tripping over as she suddenly stopped.
"It's Gabbie!" she shouted at Olivia, pushing herself up off the floor.
"¿Qué?  [what?]," Olivia replied, watching Eve as she approached the bed.
"She's really drunk," Eve started to explain, pulling Olivia up from the bed. "She's gone down to the moon cave. Well, you know it's a full moon tonight," Eve added.
"What do you mean she's gone down to the..?" Olivia trailed off.
"I mean exactly what I say. Earlier on this evening, she was talking about what happened to you and how dangerous it is to have a tail... I think it scared her. Come on, faster than that!"
"And she was drinking? Couldn't you have given her a sleep potion?" Olivia asked, following her friend as they dashed through the head's common room, most likely bewildering Tom and his friends.
"Well, you see, I went for a nap, so it was only when I woke up I'd realised she was gone, with one bottle on her bed. So, she might not be fully drunk, but she's had something," Eve corrected. Olivia nodded, choosing not to respond this time as they ran towards the lake to help rescue their friend. Without even checking to see if anyone was around, they dove into the water, instantly transforming and swimming towards the cave.

They were lucky that when they got there, the full circle moon was not above the cave yet. Instead, there was just Gabriella, supporting herself upright in the water and looking through the hole in the cave that revealed the sky.
"Gabs!" Eve cried, and she and Olivia swam forwards to meet her. Gabriella slowly turned her head to look at them. Olivia noted how... eerie the motion seemed, even as Gabriella smiled.
"It's going to be fine," she told them. "It's what I want." Olivia and Eve shared a look before swimming forwards and catching their friend to get her to the side of the small pool. Olivia heaved herself out as Eve held Gabriella, who was struggling to break away.
"Let me go!" she yelled. Olivia grabbed her arms and Eve counted to three so they could boost her out of the water. Quickly, Eve pulled her wand from her hair (they managed to find a way to tuck them in their hair 'just in case') and set to work on drying all three of them, Olivia trying to keep hold of Gabriella. Gabriella, who realised trying to rebel was fruitless. Instead, she was silent and looked rather distressed, as if her actions were just catching on to her.
"Okay?" Eve inquired, looking at Gabriella who'd relaxed. Gabriella stayed silent, not even responding by nodding. Olivia and Eve shared a look.
"We'll take the boat," Olivia prompted.

Once back in the castle, Gabriella started shaking, a sign she was crying.
"I feel sick," she whispered to them. "I'm really-"
"Not in the hallway, Gabs," Olivia interrupted soothingly. "We can wait until we're in my room." Eve nodded in agreement, and they led her back to the Head's Tower. Olivia was counting on the fact that it was late, so hopefully, Tom had gone to bed or at least had evacuated the common room. However, Olivia hadn't banked on was that Tom and his associated were curious as to why Olivia and Eve had dashed through the common room like there was a flood coming.
"Mañana," she called to the portrait. Romeo and Juliet smiled at her, and it swung forwards, revealing the Slytherins. Olivia, who'd momentarily forgotten they were there in the panic, froze, as did Gabriella, but Eve just pulled on the pair to get them upstairs.
"Eve, is everything alright?" Andrew asked his twin as they passed them to get to the stairs.
"None of your business!" she sang. The boys watched as Gabriella was hurried up the stairs, suddenly followed by Tom and Andrew. The girls had quickly slammed the door to Olivia's bedroom when the door was knocked on, signalling they'd been pursued.
"I've got it!" Eve whispered, but Olivia shook her head.
"No one is getting hexed tonight," Olivia told her. "Get her to the bathroom." Olivia padded to the door and opened it so that only her head poked out. "¿Puedo ayudar [can I help?]?
"Is everything okay?" Tom inquired, with Andrew trying to peek behind Olivia's head.
"Uh, yeah, you can go now. Adios." She went to close the door, but Tom wedged his foot in it. "¿Te importa [do you mind?]?"
"Actually, yes. If things aren't okay, we can help," Andrew declared.
"I expect backtalk from Tom," Olivia said, suprised. "Why this sudden display of affection for Gabriella?"
"She's my sister's friend," Andrew shrugged.
"I don't believe that excuse for one second!" Olivia exclaimed. "I see the way you gawk at her, okay?"
"I don't gawk, I'm just interested in her well-being," Andrew argued. Both Olivia and Tom raised their eyebrows.
"Liv! Stop bullying my brother and get in here already! She can't stop vomiting!" Eve called, presumably from the bathroom.
"¡Ya voy [i'm coming!]!" Olivia shouted, and closed the door in their faces. This time, Tom let her.
"Well done, Andrew. That was very well put," Tom told his friend as they dispatched from the landing. Andrew only groaned in response, and put a hand over his head.

"Is that all of it?" Eve asked a sulky Gabriella, who was hunched over the toilet. Eve was kneeled behind her, patting her back whilst Olivia watched from a safe distance. Gabriella hummed in response, taking the offered towel from Olivia. She was sure it was Tom's, but he'd understand. Right?
"I feel horrid," Gabriella croaked.
"Horrid," Eve repeated. "Well, downing a whole bottle of firewhiskey before going swimming would probably make anyone feel horrid."
"Eve," Olivia moaned, watching as Eve helped Gabriella stand up. "That's not helpful," she added, watching as Gabriella blanched then paused.
"I just want to lie down," the girl whispered. Olivia and Eve obeyed by helping her get onto the bed; her temperature was much too high for her to be under the blankets.
"You've gone and caught the cold, too," Olivia noted as they laid down besides her.
"Guys, I really am so sorry. I didn't meant to do it,  I was just thinking of what happened to Liv and-and I panicked, you know. It scared me," Gabriella explained, suddenly holding back sobs.
"Hey," Olivia whispered gently. "It's okay."
"We know it's dangerous," Eve added. "But you can tell us these things, you know. We're your friends."
"I'm s-so sorry," Gabriella apologised again, shaking.
"There's nothing to be sorry for. You're going to be okay. We're going to be okay."
