hi guys how are we all? i still don't know if Change got through the Wattys or not, so we'll see, right? enjoy some tom + olivia fluff, love you all xoxoxo
Yet again, Tom was acting up. Which, to be truthful, wasn't that strange anymore. Olivia was now used to his completely used to his erratic behaviour, which was not what had set her nerves off. Her friends were acting up too.
An example of this was two days prior. The girls were meant to study in Olivia's room, but when Eve and Gabriella saw Tom alone in the common room, they told Olivia to go ahead, and that they'd take five minutes.
They took an hour.
And usually, Eve and Gabriella tended to throw Tom some rather dirty looks, so Olivia could not fathom for the life of her what they were up to. Instead, she tried to act nonchalant and ignored her sneaky friends and boyfriend. On the subject of boyfriends, Tom was yet to take her out, but at least Olivia could put that down to N.E.W.T revision. The dreaded examinations were now only three months away, and Olivia was now only leaving the Heads' space when she needed to. So really: library, lessons, food. No one could drag her out, not for a swim, not for a trip to Hogsmeade, nor to sneak into the kitchens for extra food. She hadn't even written to her parents, which had caused Olivia (and Tom, surprisingly) a fright when Javier broke into the Heads' common room yelling his head off in Spanish.
"¿Estás muerta?¿Estás muerta?[are you dead? are you dead?]," her brother howled, causing the Head team to jump; they'd been deep in their studies.
"Obviamente no,[obviously not]," she snorted. "¿Porqué?[why?]"
"Entonces escribe a mamá, [then write to mum]," he exclaimed, holding up a letter.
"Sorry, Javier," she apologised in English. "I was studying." Her beloved brother jabbed a finger in her direction.
"If you don't get all O's," he warned, "you are dead to me." He turned to storm out, muttering something about, "A howler! At this time!¡Ella está loca! [she's crazy!]."
"Sorry, Tom," she said meekly, turning to him. "Our family's a telenovela." He smiled gracefully.
"I think we should get into bed," he offered. They did. After testing each other on some Muggle Studies theories. Cute, right?Olivia didn't even have time to worry, anyway. Like mentioned, they were so busy that if she let herself wonder, she'd get behind on her revision. It didn't take her long to discover what was going on, anyway. At some point in March (two months before exams they pulled this stunt! Two months), Olivia was told by Eve and Gabriella to go to the cave by boat. It was baffling and wearying, really, the fact that they kept pestering her until she did all the promising they could think of in the world. And then, of course, they scurried off. On this particular day, though, Olivia actually didn't have the time to worry about it; instead, she nearly forgot until she took a bathroom break.
Sitting in the boat, Olivia gave herself a little bit of thinking time. Why was she going to the cave? It seemed really sketchy to her, but maybe that was because she'd been watching her friends act that way. What was Tom's part in this, on top of that? She felt a bit baffled by him, now that she was thinking about it. She knew he had some major plans going on (Olivia wouldn't be surprised if he tried world domination) but why were Eve and Gabriella getting involved after telling her to tread lightly around him? She was pulled off her thoughts as she crashed into a small rocking, signalling she was by the shore. She pulled the boat onshore and head into the little cavern, letting out a quiet 'whee' as she went down it. When Olivia landed at the bottom, she very quickly noticed the change in colour of light. As there was the reflection of water, it was usually very blue, but tonight, alongside the blue, there was warm amber dots that Olivia recognised to be flames. Candles. There was a picnic blanket too? Olivia stood up and frowned. What hadn't clicked to her yet that this was a date. However, it did click when Tom popped (actually popped) out of the small pool in a... wetsuit?
"¿Qué mierda?[what the fuck?]," she mumbled, watching as he pulled off the wetsuit to reveal a damp normal suit.
"I know that you've been studying really hard over the past few months," he started. "And we're dating. I haven't even taken you on an actual date yet. And I don't care if you think studying together counts; it does not. So, this is a date. No revision, we're going to do romantic stuff."
"But we ha-"
"A date!" he yelled, making Olivia jump. "A date. Come, sit. Eat," he ordered, gesturing to the bowls of food on the blanket.
"Bien," she agreed and perched herself on the ground opposite Tom. Apparently, though, that wasn't what he had in mind, because he moved over to sit next to her, and then pulled her onto his lap.
"A couple, a date. We've shared a bed," he reminded her.
"That's the phrase I associate with you. I imagine when you introduce me to people you say, 'Meet my girlfriend Olivia. We used to share a bed." Oh Dios," she said suddenly. "Please don't tell my mother that. She'll freak." Tom snorted.
"What do you want to eat first?"It was at times like this, when Tom was being the sweetest man on earth, she could never quite fully comprehend why she suspected him of kicking puppies and taking candy from children. Somewhere, in the back of her mind, she was being reminded of their Christmas trip, and the dangerous vibes he gave off. But the rest of her mind was blocking that off from her; they seemed happy in their current situation, why let her think negatively?
Because then she realised. He was evil. And she didn't want to think so. She wanted to love him. And she knew, in a sick, twisted way, that maybe she loved he was evil.
