"What are you going to wear?" Eve asked, eating some berries. Early that morning, she and Gabriella had charged into Olivia's room, waking her up. Now, the pair of them were lying on Olivia's bed unguiltily, eating food as Olivia glared at them (she'd hoped to sleep in more). Olivia shrugged, pulling out a basic dress.
"NO!" The other two exclaimed, and Olivia stopped where she was.
"¿Qué?" she asked, clearly confused.
"You can't wear that," Gabriella explained like it was obvious.
"Why? Why not?"
"It's boring," Eve said. "You have to dress nice."
"Why?" Olivia repeated. "It's not like it's a- Oh." Olivia sighed. "You two think this is a date, don't you?"
"Yeah," Eve and Gabriella answered simultaneously. Olivia sighed again and pointed at the door.
"It's not a date," she clarified.
"Mmhmm," Eve replied.
"Not. A. Date."
"Sure," Gabriella told her. Olivia pursed her lips but didn't say anything as they left. Once they'd closed the door, she looked at the dress.
"It's not a date, Olivia," she reminded herself.

Despite everything, Olivia still chose a different dress. This time, it was Tom's turn to be running late, so Olivia just sat in their shared common room, reading a book. However, after an hour, he was still a no-show. Olivia considered knocking at his door but decided against it. If he couldn't be bothered to do his duties, then Olivia was going to take control.

She was going to decide the Halloween ball theme herself.

Two days later, Olivia was studying in the library when Tom came storming up to her.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"Studying. Very obviously studying," she replied, taking off her glasses to look at him. "Can I help?"
"You can tell me what this is?" He held up a poster for the Halloween Ball that Olivia had made herself.
"A poster for the ball," Olivia said. "Are you feeling okay?"
"I'm talking about the theme, Ramirez."
"What, fairytales?"
"Muggle fairytales," Tom corrected. "Why did you decide it without me?"
"Well, you failed to turn up to the meeting, Riddle. I waited an hour. Then, I waited another hour in Hogsmeade. So I did it all myself. Next time you want to make a decision, be there." Olivia closed her books and started to pack up, but Tom put his hands on top to stop her.
"What are you trying to do?" Tom asked.
"What do you mean?"
"Why specifically muggle fairytales?"
"Because they're different to wizarding ones."
"But this is a wizarding school."
"With students who have grown up in muggle lifestyles. I think Hogwarts needs to embrace muggle culture more."
"Muggle culture?" Tom repeated. Olivia pulled her books from under his hands.
"If you're about to say something prejudiced, then we're done here."
"No, we're not," he replied, even though she was walking away. Olivia didn't look back.

"Well, a lot of the Slytherin purebloods would agree with him. They're probably a bad influence on him," Gabriella explained. Olivia had just told the pair of the conversation between Olivia and Tom, but neither seemed surprised at all.
"But why should it being muggle culture bother him?" Olivia asked. "This sort of thing is not really a problema in Spain, so why is it any different here?" Eve and Gabriella shared a look, the one that Olivia recognised to be 'how do we say this'.
"That doesn't matter, Liv," Eve answered, finally. "What matters is that it's going to change with the future, and we will make sure it changes. Now, we've got to make sure that Gabriella doesn't start to swim off with the fish again," Eve added, as in that short space of time, Gabriella had bobbed underwater (they were in a cave) and she was starting to swim off. "Just, think of your outfit. Let him know not to mess with you."
"We're jumping between so many conversations," Olivia told her. "I'm getting so confused!"
