Chapter 44

When Callie got home, her dad was waiting for her in the kitchen.

" You mutilated a woman?" Her dad asked.

" Yes," Callie answered. " I did so none of the other Serpents would be kicked out, I protected Jughead,"

"Callie, your mother and I did not raise you to be this violent," her dad pointed out. " The protest at Pickens Day, I was fine with. But this is a whole new level. I don't mind you being friends with the serpents, but something like this ever comes up again.."

"What if it is life and death?" Callie asked.

" Then you are not to take any part of it," her dad answered. " I almost lost you three times now. That's right I found out about the ghoulies."

" How did you find out about that?" Callie asked.

" FP," her dad answered. " But that is not the point, you are grounded and as for right now, I agree with FP no Whyte Wrym for a couple of days."

" I understand dad," Callie sighed.

The next day Callie was cleaning the kitchen floors as part of her punishment when she received a call from Sweet Pea.

" Hello," Callie greeted.

" Are you coming to the Whyte Wrym today?" Sweet Pea asked.

"Nope," Callie answered. " As of right now I am banned from the place for a couple of days or until we find out if Jughead stays in the Serpents or not. Besides I got Veronica's confirmation tonight." 

" I am so sorry," Sweet Pea apologized. "We shouldn't have brought you into this at all."

" It's fine," Callie assured him.

" Are you grounded?" Sweet Pea asked.

" Yes," Callie answered. " My dad agreed with my punishment with FP and now I have loads of chores on top of that to do."

"No phone!" her dad shouted.

" Gotta go," Callie said as she hung up the phone as quickly as possible.

An hour or two later Callie was just finishing up some touches before heading to the confirmation.  She received a text from Sweet Pea

Sweet Pea: Are you home?

Callie: Yes, I am in my room

Sweet Pea: I'm coming up

Callie walked over and opened her window, she then walked over to her desk and put earrings in. 

" Call-" Sweet Pea began as he walked in. Callie turned to he was staring at her.

" Close the window," Callie suggested. " It's cold." Sweet Pea closed the window still looking at her. " What?"

"I just have never seen you in a dress," Sweet Pea admitted as he shook his head.

"Well does it look nice?" Callie asked.

" Beautiful," Sweet Pea asked, he then realized what he said and blushed a little.

" Thanks," Callie blushed a little.

  " Why are you dressed up?" Sweet Pea asked.

"Veronica's confirmation," Callie reminded him.

Hours later Callie sat in a pew with her friends. It was the day of Veronica's confirmation. Veronica and Josie sang a duet, a cover of Bittersweet Symphony.
