Chapter 60

 Jughead and FP took Fangs to the hospital while Sweet Pea and the young Serpents took off to the high school. Callie was walking around looking for everyone when she found Reggie hiding behind a dumpster. He looked like a complete mess, a bit unrecognizable. 

" Reggie," Callie gasped as she sat next to him.

" I didn't shoot him," Reggie told her. " I didn't shoot Fangs." Tears were threatening to spill out of his eyes, Reggie Mantle never cried in front of people. 

" Did someone put you up to this? Was it by chance Hiram Lodge?" Callie asked, Reggie then nodded. " You need to call him, now." Reggie took out his phone and called Hiram.

" Mr. Lodge, it's me, Reggie," Reggie informed. " I need your help. Someone shot Fangs. It wasn't me. But I was there and now the Southsiders think I did it.

" That's unfortunate, Reggie, but I'm afraid I can't help you," Hiram apologized. He then hung up the phone.

" That dick," Callie hissed. " We need to get you somewhere safe."

" Where can I go?" Reggie asked he was clearly scared.

" Pop's," Callie answered. " We need to move now, quickly."

" What do you think your Serpent boyfriend will say?" Reggie asked as they started to move.

" He will be fine with it," Callie answered. " He needs to hear your side of the story, I believe you."

"After all, I did to you?" Reggie asked.

" You look the same way when Fangs was accused of killing Midge," Callie answered. " Both faces of someone being accused of a crime that they didn't commit. And you are no murderer Reggie."

" So he didn't kill Midge?" Reggie asked.

" No, he didn't," Callie confirmed.

Over at the high school, the Serpents were destroying the school, cutting up poster boards. Sweet Pea started yelling as he flipped over a desk.

" Serpents, stop!" Archie demanded as he rounded the corner with Kevin and Moose.

" Well, Fellas looks like we found some Bulldogs to put down," Sweet Pea stated as they went to go face them.

" Sweet Pea, I swear, Reggie didn't shoot Fangs. It was Mrs. Klump," Archie informed.

" Bull! I saw Mantle with the gun!" Sweet Pea pointed out.

" Then you also saw me tackle him before he got a shot off!" Archie brought up. " It was Midge's mom! She's down at the station."

" Yeah, and Fangs is still clinging to life," Sweet Pea reminded them. "And whether it was Reggie or Mrs. Klump who pulled the trigger, a Northsider put him there. You took our friend, our land... And you'll take everything if we give you the chance." He then picked up a garbage can. " Now you get watch as we burn your school...to the ground...down!" He threw the garbage can into the display, shattering the glass.

" Stop it!" Kevin demanded. " After everything Callie has done for you, this is the way you treat the school she attends, her friends."

"Callie stands with us," Sweet Pea stated. " Isn't that right babe?"  He looked over Archie and his friends. He grew concerned when he didn't see his girlfriend. " I thought she was with you."

" I thought she was with you," Archie stated. he grew concerned when he didn't see his twin sister. Before anyone could say anything else, the doors opened, and Principal Weatherbee came out with a baseball bat and back up.
