Connor and Hank had gotten home from the police station about an hour or so ago, they were working on another homicide case, like always. Hank couldn't help but notice the fact that Connor had been very distant throughout the evening, his LED in an constant swirling yellow. He finally decided to ask about it when Connor was too busy staring into the void that he didn't notice Sumo nudging at his hand for attention.
"What's going on in that brain of yours?" He asked, leaning back comfortably in his chair.
Connor glanced up to him. "What do you mean, Hank?"
"Sumos been asking for attention for the last minute. As far as I know you're all over him the second we get home. What's up?"
Connor glanced to the floor, his LED flashing red for a second, before he turned his gaze back to Hank. "I think I am attracted to guys."
"Ok.. what-"
"But I think I'm attracted to women as well," Connor interrupts, his brows burrowing as he looks down in thought. "This is very confusing."
Hank was quiet for a second, seeing if Connor would continue onto a three page long essay about how his systems aren't malfunctioning and there's nothing physically wrong with him like a usually does, but his didn't this time. He just stayed silent, scratching Sumo's head.
"What makes you say that?" Hank asked, taking a sip of a bottle of water he now had to cary around with him because Connor has insisted that he doesn't stay hydrated enough throughout the day.
"While we were working on the case today I saw this man across the room," Connor paused, giving himself a second to think his words through. "I found him attractive."
Hank hums, nodding his head. "Anything else?"
"I've done that with women too, or just random people we see on the streets together, human and android alike. I just... I don't know what it means."
Hank thought for a second. He didn't know much about this stuff either, but his son was sitting on the couch, possibly having a gay crisis, and he needed to do something. He ended up choosing the supportive rout, hoping that it would be the most successful.
"Well, whoever you end up finding attractive, Sumo and I will still enjoy you and your presence." Hank stated somewhat awkwardly.
Connor gave Hank a smile, looking up to him. "Thanks, Hank."
"No problem, son." Hank leans his head back, letting out a deep breath. "We're going back to the scene tomorrow, you should ask that guy out."
Connor nearly choked on nothing, looking over to Hank in horror. "Excuse me?"
"I mean, it wouldn't hurt to try." Hank let out a quite chuckle. "Anyway, I'm going to bed. You can stay out here with Sumo for a bit longer but do whatever you do instead of sleeping soon."
"Will do, Lieutenant."
Hank shook his head. Connor was getting there, but he fell back onto formalities every now and again. "Have a nice night, Connor."
"You too."
Hank left to go to bed, leaving Connor with his thoughts. Should he ask that guy out? Would he even want to go on a date with him if he knew Connor was an android? Sumo put his head in Connor's lap, making a small "boof" noise. Connor smiled and pet the dog, his LED finally going back to a nice shade of blue.
"What do you think, Sumo? Should I do it?"

The next day they returned to the crime scene, the man Connor found attractive was still there. Connor glanced at him through the corner of his eye, his LED flashing yellow. He had never really been properly nervous before, but he certainly was now. He gingerly touched Hank's arm, just enough to get his attention, and murmered "wish me luck" before heading off.
Hank watched Connor approach the man, giving a light chuckle. He had brown hair, like Connor, but it was a lot more curley and fluffy. Kind of like Connor's when he doesn't style it. Freckles littered his entire face, giving him this soft charm. His eyes seemed to be blue but Hank couldn't be entirely sure from the distance he was standing at. They had pretty similar builds, Connor taller by only an inch or two.
Hack watched as Connor gave his signature introduction: "my name us Connor" but faltered before he said "the android send by Cyberlife."
Connor glanced over to Hank, who was watching, and turned back to the man in front of him, giving a soft grin. He was free now. He was no longer the android sent by Cyberlife.
"I work with the DPD," he continued. "And I couldn't help but notice you here yesterday as well."
Hank watched as they chatted for a minute or two, how they both had wide smiles while talking to eachotherand laughed about something every now and then. Eventually, though, Connor waved goodbye, gravitating back to Hank.
"So... how'd it go??" Hank asked. He couldn't help but smile at the grin came across Connor's facewhen he asked, his cheeks slightly tinted blue.
Connor holds out a slip of paper, speaking like a giddy child. "I got his number!"
