"Y/N. Y/N, wake up," calls a soothing voice as a hand gently shakes my shoulder to wake me. Groaning softly, I open my eyes and find my vision a little blurred, so I groggily rub the E/C orbs before hearing a small laugh from beside me. I turn my head to look at Matt, who stands beside me with the passenger side door open. I lift my head off the seat as his hand slips off my shoulder. "We're here." Still somewhat lethargic, I shake my head to wake up, but my mind continues to feel fuzzy regardless. With a yawn, I wonder,

'When did I fall asleep?' I didn't recall dozing off, and the last thing I do remember is Matt stopping at a gas station to fill up his truck on the way to his friend's house. Looking up at the sky, I find that the sun had almost completely set, only emitting a fleeting, orange glow in the otherwise navy sky studded with stars. My brows scrunch in confusion. "How long was I asleep for?" I question while looking back at Matt. He merely smiles and answers with,

"The whole ride. You actually had me a bit worried, but I'm glad you got some rest. It must've been from all the stress."

"I guess so." I hide a yawn behind my hand, finding his assumption believable. He unbuckles the seatbelt for me before stepping back to allow me out of the truck. I stumble a bit, feeling pins and needles in my legs, and accidentally crash into Matt.

"Whoa, careful," he chuckles and grabs ahold of my shoulders to keep me steady as I have a quick look around the area. The ground beneath my shoes is squishy and muddy, meaning it has likely rained on the way here. Even the scent of rain lingers in the air as a few droplets fall from the green and yellow leaves of the towering trees. I see that we are parked in front of a small cabin lifted by stilts with wooden steps leading up to a roomy porch with wooden railing. I spot a chimney on top of the room, which means there must be a fireplace inside.
