Hey guys,

Just letting Y'all know that if you read something that contradicts with something else in either The Broken One or The Silent One, it was done intentionally. It's all about point of view.

Also, events that happen in this book are connected to events in The Broken One, which is why I recommend reading both at the same time. There are things that Evangeline did not know in The Silent One that Elise or Ned did know - so by reading both books, things will make more sense.

I tap my pencil against my desk boredly, as the entire class sat in silence. This is the longest calculus class that I have ever had, for sure.

"Is something wrong Elise?" My calculus teacher questions as approaching me.

I look down at my open excerise book, that was filled with completed equations.

"Nothing, I'm finished" I explain.

She nods "alright move onto the second part"

Way ahead of you Ms James.

"But I've finished that to" I start "I've finished all five sections"

She blinks "you've finished all of the sections?"

She looks stunned. Ms James just glares at me in shock. Is she still breathing or...

"No offence Ms but they weren't exactly difficult" I shrug.

She blinks with a wide mouth.

"How did I do?" I question as catching my breath with my pom poms in my hands.

"Brilliant!" Jenny cheers with a bright smile as we stand on the sidelines.

Cheerleading isn't exactly something that I thought I'd ever do, to be completely honest. But I guess it's good fitness and besides, it'll help me get to know Mark Antony - I mean Chris.

"Really?" I smile nervously "You really think so?"

"Yeah" she nods excitedly.

99.9% sure she's lying to me.

I look into the distance to see the water table. Gosh, I'm thirsty after my tryouts.

"I'm gonna get some water," I tell Jenny.

"Sure" She nods as I walk to the large rectangular table that was filled with disposable water bottles.

Suddenly I hear someone come up next to me. I look to my side.

"Oh hey" I greet.

"Hi" he greets awkwardly as picking up a bottle.

"How's Ned going in his football tryouts?" I make conversation.

Growing up, I was always taught to make polite conversation when conversing with somebody knew. It's a good way to end the awkward small talk, well so they tell me.

"Coach seems to like him," Sam tells me.

"That's good" I nod.

I look at him - to find him staring again. What is this guys deal? I really want to ask what the hell is up with the staring.

"You ready?" A voice asks from behind me.

I turn around to find Ned looking somewhat clean.

"Yeah" I nod slowly, breaking eye contact with Sam.

Something just feels really odd about him. It's like when he's looking at me, he sees somebody else.

With that, Ned and I walk side by side through the gymnasium.

"How did you do?" Ned asks as gripping his gym bag.

"I don't know" I shrug, "Jenny said I did well"

"But Jenny is polite" he points out.

"Exactly" I nod "we won't know till the end of the week I guess"

Ned didn't make that remark to be mean or anything. He just says what's on his mind, zero filter my brother has. He could never offend me.

"Sam said coach likes you" I inform.

"Coach also said I have anger management issues" he cocks a brow.

Of course he did.

"You're kidding?" I raise both my brows.

"Nope," he shakes his head slowly.

I wish I could say I'm shocked. I love my brother more then words can say, but he's always been told that he needs to work on his anger. I think everything he's been through with our parents scarred him in ways that I don't think I can ever fully understand.

"....Do you know who's in Mrs Rogers Junior calculus class?" I change the subject.

Ms James, my Calculus teacher recommended that I transfer to a junior class since I'm so advance. I don't mind, I just hope I know some people in there.

"Yeah me, Sam, and Chris" he smiles.

Mark Antony? Gosh, looks like I'm not going to get much work done with him in there. Ned will probably ask me for help every five minutes if we're seated near each other - so that's going to be distracting. Sam is somebody that I am definitely not looking forward to sharing a class with.

"Sam" I look down in disappointment.

"What's the problem?" Ned raises his brows.

Ned has problems expressing himself, so as a result can come off very aggressive towards guys or sleazy towards girls. If I were to tell him about Sam, it won't end well.

"No problem" I shake my head slowly "...What do you know about him?"

"Not much" Ned admits as we finally make it to the double doors "I've only met him a few times before...he throws dope parties through"

"Yeah, I bet" I nod slowly as we begin walking through the parking lot.

"You don't sound....great" he observes in a confused tone "are you sure there's no problem?"

"Yeah don't worry" I beg.

"Okay well if there's no problem then you should come to his house party this weekend" he grins as we jump into his Lamborghini Gallardo ip560-4 spyder.

"Pass," I tell him. He looks at me with wide eyes, that screams his offended as hell "I have homework"

"The party is Friday night" he informs "You have the rest of the weekend to do your homework"

"But-" I start as he starts the engine.

"No buts" he orders.

"You're a bad influence big brother" I tease as buckling my seat belt.

"Don't I know it" He grins proudly as stepping on the accelerator, zooming through the parking lot.
