Percy smiled as he slept, dreaming about swimming in the sea with his mom and friends. He broke the surface, enjoying the way the water shot him to the surface at will.

He looked up and found Annabeth walking towards him with a smile on her face.

"Hey Seaweed brain, long time no see."

"Yeah." Percy smiled, a bittersweet feeling enveloped him. "I miss you Annabeth."

"I miss you too..." The daughter of wisdom frowned. "When are you coming back?"

"I...I don't know."

"Percy, it's time."

"Time? Time for what?"

"It's time to wake up."

"What?"

"WAKE UP!"

"AH!" Percy yelped as he fell off his bed and spilled onto the cold floor below. He let out a growl and rubbed his eyes. Hecate was grinning at him from across the bed.

Percy glared at the goddess. "There's a special place in the underworld for people like you."

"Yes, I know. It's called the throne." Hecate smiled. "I'm just letting Hades borrow it for now."

Percy looked at the window and gaped. "What the-?! The sun isn't even up yet! What time is it?"

"Five in the morning." Hecate shrugged as she checked her nails.

"Five? Five?! It's five in the morning?!" Percy yelled. "Why would you wake me up at five in the morning?!"

"Because it's time to begin your training." Hecate said mischievously. "I let you sleep in because you were exhausted. Now that you're well and rested, it's time to learn. Vigorously too."

Percy finally got to his feet and shook his head to clear any leftover drowsiness. "I hate you."

"No you don't!" Hecate yelled over her shoulder as she walked to the door.

"At least let me wash up first." Percy looked around for a moment. "Forgot, no toothbrush..."

"No problem." Hecate snapped her fingers.

Percy felt a wave of something wash over him, getting even the most private places. His teeth suddenly felt cleaner as well as the rest of his body.

Percy touched his silky smooth skin. "What did you do?"

"It's a cleaning charm, very basic. It's on the program. You should learn it in about a month or two if the Fates haven't completely over-sold you to me. Now come on! We need to get you fed and then we need to get you ready."

After a second, Percy noticed that he had to jog to match Hecate's long strides despite being a few inches taller than the goddess.

'Must be some godly magic.' He reasoned.

Tom the barkeeper smiled at the odd pair. "Ah, Percy. How did you sleep?"

"Very well, thank you." Percy smiled at the kind man. "At least I was, until I was woken up by a maniac!"

Hecate rolled her eyes. "Oh, please..." She muttered.

Percy looked back at the barman. "Anyway, I'm surprised you're up this early."

"I get customers at all times of the day, I make it a habit to wake early. Now I suppose you'll be needing something to eat, yes?"

Percy nodded. "Yes please." He turned to Hecate. "You want anything?"
