Dan and Phil finally pulled themselves together enough to prepare to leave. Their already slightly miss-kept appearance was now even worse after practically running and rolling all over their house.

They both stared into the bathroom mirror, fiddling with their hair to get it just right.

"You know," Dan started while patting down a few wild curls, "our fans are always like, "omg their hair is, like, so perfect!" But I don't really see it."

Phil smirked and looked at Dan's reflection in the mirror. "Hey, speak for yourself. This new hairstyle suits me." He turned back to his reflection and frowned slightly at a piece that wouldn't stay in its spot.

"Anything will suit you after having emo hair for literally like, half your life." Dan replied, putting his hands on his hips and glaring at a certain piece of hair. "It's like you've been living in a dump all your life and then moving to a run down building. It's not a good place to live but you think it's great since a dump is all you've known."

Phil stared at Dan. "I have no idea what you just said," he said laughing.

Dan groaned and rolled his eyes. He squinted in the mirror as he tried to fix the recalcitrant curl. "Long story short, anything is better than that emo hair."

"You're just jelly mine is more trendy than yours."

"Whatever."

~El time skip~

Dan and Phil strolled into the grocery store, standing out like skyscrapers in a small village. It wasn't a new thing for people to turn their heads and stare at them, but when they caught their eye contact, they would snap their heads back to what they were doing. Dan and Phil were used to it by now. In fact it was quite funny to see the adults try to hide the shock on their face, or kids mouths handing open.

Of course, being tall has its disadvantages. They're lanky as well as tall, and not very well coordinated. That means that they knock things off the shelf, bump into people, and run into displays sitting on the ground.

So they generally tried to avoid causing disaster and just not go outside, but this time they had no choice.

Dan sighed when he saw all the people in the store. "Phil, they've invented online shopping. Why can't we just use that?" He swerved around someone standing in then middle of the aisle talking on their phone.

Phil smiled sweetly at Dan, taking his hand and giving it a little squeeze. "We can't avoid people all our lives Dan. Besides," he chuckled, "this means we've filled our social quota for the month."

Dan huffed but didn't say anything else about the matter. "So, what's on the shopping list?"

"Bread, milk, olive oil, apples, tortillas, cheese-" Phil made a face. "-hot dogs, marshmallows-"

Dan had been nodding thoughtfully at each item Phil listed but gave him a confused look. "Are we doing a baking video or something?"

Phil pretended not to know why he was asking. "No.. why?"

"There's marshmallows on the list."

Phil dropped the act and smiled brightly at Dan. "I know, I put them there!"
